The space
Mulberry Moon Farm is a 50-acre organic farm with gardens, hawthorn woods, and the meandering Mud Creek.

The Starhouse offers a peaceful and unique off-grid glamping experience for those who love simplicity and open spaces. The space has no running water or electricity, but long daylight hours and mild nights make for a comfortable stay close to nature.

You’ll sleep in a vintage glass greenhouse elevated on a wooden frame and tucked in a clearing of hawthorn forest.

Inside: a loft bed reached by ladder, a convertible couch below, a table and chairs, and a small bookshelf with books and games.

Outside: a picnic table, campfire circle, breakfast bar, and outhouse surrounded by wildflowers.

We provide dishes, cutlery, a French press, kettle, pots and pans, and a small camper stove for up to four guests — or you can cook right over the fire.

A short walk away lies our ecological pond, home to frogs, dragonflies, and curious birds. Take a dip if you’re brave, or sit by the edge with a morning coffee.

The main farm is a 5-minute walk from the Starhouse, with a self-serve store offering fresh produce, eggs, and meat. Wander through the gardens, say hello to our friendly flock of chickens, and see how your vegetables are grown.

🌿 Nearby: Lake Huron beaches and sunsets, local farm stands, orchards, and cozy small-town adventures in Strathroy.

This is a place for those who seek the wonder of nature - who wish to to wake with the birds, gather by firelight, and feel the season unfold around them.

Guided Farm Tour - 1 hr - $75
Early check-in (1pm) - $20
Late checkout (1pm) - $20
Extra firewood (1 bushel) - $20

Guest access
90% of the farm is available for you to explore and enjoy.

There are a few areas, including around our home (backyard, frontyard, playground) and the mowed paths behind it, that are off limits.

A map will be provided so you can see the boundaries.

Other than that, you are welcome to explore. There are rough paths in the woods that will lead you to a hand-crafted wooden bridge across the creek.

You are welcome to explore our 2-acre vegetable farm! Wander down the rows and see how we grow food. Sit and watch the chickens - some say it's better than TV!

Other things to note
November - March: the Starhouse is not insulated but is heated by woodstove. We provide all wood. The temperature inside can go about 25 degrees higher than outside. Nights average –9 °C outside in the winter so it could range from 10-25 °C inside depending on the weather. Check the forecast before you book. It'll be chilly when you arrive but we can prepare the fire for you in advance - this is $50 extra cost service by request. Bring layers, and slippers/inside shoes - the floor is cold - and be prepared to stoke the fire throughout the night. If you can handle that, you're in for a magical time.

This is a whimiscal - yet rustic - airbnb spot. It is off-grid with no wifi, no electricity, no running water, and no shower. We do provide jugs of fresh water.

No cooking allowed inside - but the kettle can be heated on the woodstove. Also there is a propane stove that can be used outside, and a grill for the fire.

We do not have a shower yet, but will be installing an outdoor one for the summer months.

Best for nature-lovers and the independent and whimsical traveler - if this is you, you won't be disappointed!
