The space
Surrounded by restaurants, shops & theatres. 5 blocks to Lady Rose Marine Services, 1 block to Dog Mountain Brew Pub.

Guests will hear and are encouraged to attend concerts upstairs in Char's Landing. Check Char's web site for special events or chat with Char for more details.

Owner lives in private residence (at the upper level back of the building) and invites CHAR's HOSTEL guests (at the ground level front of the building) to make themselves at home and enjoy the arts & outdoor sports cultural scene.

Guest access
The guest will be given their own personal keypad code to unlock the doors. Guests may arrange to drop off their bags early in the common areas. There are 3 lockers first come / first served.

Other things to note
Char's Landing is a former church, first service August 4th, 1912. Owner/Operator/Resident Charlene Patterson retired from 12 years working on the Cruise Ships and moved to Port Alberni to realize the vision of a safe haven for cultural travelers.

Our motto is "make yourself at home" Charlene Patterson retired from the cruise ship industry and moved to Port Alberni in 2010 with the vision of building a lifestyle in a welcoming community with potential. She bought a big 100+ year old church and revived it into what is well on it's way to be Port Alberni's favourite community social hub. She named it Char's Landing, because Charlene previously worked in the airline industry, then the marine industry and now after travelling the world, Char has landed and planted her feet firmly on the ground.
