This charming brookside retreat has it all! Enjoy lake/kayak access, hiking trails just steps away, new hot tub to soak away your worries, cozy woodstove for chilly nights, fully stocked gourmet kitchen, front porch swing and best of all it's family and pet friendly! Though cozy, the house boasts two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a pull-out couch, comfortably sleeping 5 or 6. Though it offers peace and privacy for you to unwind from life's pressures, it's close to amenities to stock up on supplies
The space
Tucked deep in the woods beside a gently flowing brook, this enchanting retreat offers a rare blend of privacy, comfort, and natural beauty. Full of warmth and character, the home invites you to slow down and savor the quiet rhythm of nature. Wake to birdsong, sip your morning coffee on the porch swing, and watch the forest come alive around you — you may even spot the resident jack rabbit hopping through the yard or a deer bouncing by.
Walls Lake is just across the street, where guests can enjoy peaceful paddles on the water with the provided kayak (bring your life jacket) for the day or do some fishing.
Spend your days gliding along the shoreline, ATVing the nearby Rail to Trail just steps from the house, wandering the various walking trails or beaches nearby or simply relaxing, looking up at the clouds beside the brook that meanders past the property.
In the evening, roast marshmallows in the fire pit, curl up by the propane fire table outside or the cozy woodstove inside, grill some steaks on the blackstone, stargaze or soak in the bubbly spa while the calm of the woods settles in and a plethora of fireflies join you <3
Though it feels wonderfully secluded, you are connected to Starlink in case you need to get some work done and you’re only 10 minutes from the charming seaside town of Lockeport, known for its stunning beaches, local shops, and fresh seafood. There you can find basic necessities at the Lock, Stock and Barrel, the local one stop shop or try the food at the Bayman, the local favorite restaurant.
The property is located exactly in between the historic town of Shelburne, just 25 minutes away, offering additional dining, culture, and coastal exploration and Liverpool a charming, historic "Privateer Town" located on the South Shore along the Mersey River. Known for its 18th-century architecture, sandy beaches, and maritime history.
Peaceful, private, and unforgettable — this woodland escape is the kind of place guests will fall in love with and never want to leave and we sure hope to see you soon!
Guest access
The guests have the entire property to themselves. There aren't any neighbors nearby. No noise constraints and minimal rules.
Other things to note
There is only a small amount of children's activities (bubbles, small football, velcro ball toss, coloring pencils and books and a couple of board games) so best to bring some things from home if the kidlets are coming :)
The wooded path to the lake is across the street. The lake is suitable for small children as its very shallow however, it is not a groomed area, it is wild lake access (ie no lawn, seating etc.) guests may picnic or have a fire down there providing no fire bans are on (please consult Nova Scotia burn safe website for Shelburne county rules which are updated daily at 2pm)
There is an argo available for rent with or without a driver.
Meal service is available from a red seal chef.
The houses water is from a natural spring-fed well, it is filtered and the water has been tested and it's safe to drink from the tap :)
I've provided some pet poop bags, dog treats and a couple of toys but it would be best to bring your fur baby's bed from home as no pets are allowed on any of the furniture or in beds.
