The space
Welcome to Bright View Cottage! This sunshine yellow cottage will brighten your day and bring a smile to your face. Bright and airy, the cottage has an open concept design with a well equipped kitchen, living room, dining area with an office nook, and a 4 piece bathroom that includes laundry facilities.

Upstairs are three bedrooms. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom and a single twin bed in the third bedroom. A sliding patio door leads from the master bedroom to an upper deck.

The living space extends outside to a large ground floor deck, lawn and beyond that, 14 acres of rugged beauty.

Bright View cottage has internet access, but no television. Don’t worry, you won’t miss it. 20 minutes from the nearest town, Bright View Cottage is secluded but not isolated. Spend the days exploring the area. There are quaint towns and villages, beaches, hiking trails, museums, theatres and boutique shops. Closer to home –you can walk or drive from the house to the beach - perfect for that early morning run, or an afternoon relaxing on the sand or playing in the ocean. At the end of the day, return home to a seafood cook out on the deck and spectacular sunset.

The entire house is yours to enjoy. Everything is there for your use and enjoyment.

Other things to note
Bright View Cottage has a maximum occupancy limit of 5 guests. Any more – even if it is visitors for the day, must be approved prior to arrival.

There is a set of towels (Beach, Bath, Hand & two face cloths) supplied for each guest. A washer and dryer is available and can be used if you need to refresh the linens.

Neighbourhood highlights

On the eastern shore of Lockeport Harbour, Bright View Cottage is located in the sparsely populated seaside community of East Ragged Island. Ruggedly beautiful, the immediate area is stunning and there is no shortage of exploring to be done. There is a natural beach just down the lane and a warm water swimming spot known by locals as the 'deep hole', a short walk away. Within a 15 – 20 minute drive by are the beautiful beaches of Louis Head and Lockeport.

It is about a 20 minute dive to the closest town of Lockeport. Lockeport is home to 3 distinct beaches: Crescent Beach, Freddy’s Beach and Col. Locke’s Beach as well as a number of restaurants and shops. Lockeport also hosts a number of festivals: a charming small-town Canada Day celebration; a music festival and called Harmony Bazaar and a Sea Derby.

The historic town of Shelburne, known for its museums, restaurants, theatre and harbour is about 30 minutes by car. Shelburne also has a number of festivals throughout the year. Founders Days in July is a popular event as is the Whirligig Festival in September.

A little further afield are Liverpool and Lunenburg. It is a 2-hour drive to Halifax International Airport and 1.5 hours to the ferry terminal in Yarmouth.
