Cottage vacation rentals in Grand Rapids

This was a perfectly place for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Being nice and close to both Saugatuck, Douglas, and Mt. Baldhead, we did not have any issues finding something to do. While we were there too early for it to be open, the house is also close to the chain ferry, which can make getting to Saugatuck even easier. As an added bonus, we got to see some deer decently up close while relaxing in the hot tub! This was definitely a great trip!

I wish I could give this Airbnb 100 stars! I have stayed in quite a few airbnbs now and this by far takes the cake. These hosts have thought of everything from the kids all the way up through the adults. We had 4 different families stay here and it was beyond perfect! We all had our own space and when your bedroom door was closed it was actually quiet in the rooms no matter what was going on outside of them. The beds were so comfortable! They had everything for my 5 month old and even more for my 2.5 year old! The bounce house & toys in the basement were the perfect touch for the kids and the steam shower in the master was beyond spa like! The pictures do not even come close to doing this home justice! These hosts have gone the extra mile with this Airbnb. I hate writing this review and not having a single negative thing to say because once I give away this secret gem, it’s going to constantly be booked. Book this place, I promise you won’t regret it!!!!

Overall it was a pleasant stay. BUT… the initial address given was not the address of the house so we have to drive another 30 minutes to get to the house. The house was clean, rustic and ideal for us 3 people and a dog. We enjoyed the amenities especially the billiards and kayaks. Also our dog enjoyed running around the property.

We’re repeat renters at Shari’s place in Douglas. We love the hot tub for us and the fenced in yard for our pup! It’s a great getaway for our little fam.

Our stay was wonderful at the Cove! The house was extremely clean and well taken care of. Lots of great features if you are looking for skiing in the winter or all the lake fun in the summer. This is the place. Super friendly host, very clear instructions, clean and cozy. We will be back up during the summer for some lake time. 5 stars highly recommended staying at the Cove. Thanks for having us!

We had an amazing stay at this a-frame. It was incredibly relaxing and clean. The place was exactly as described, and the hot tub was fantastic — clean and perfect for unwinding. Todd was kind and very responsive, which made our experience even better. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful getaway!

Derek and Ashley made such a cozy home away from home. They thought of everything! We are a family of 5 with 3 kids and 2 dogs coming right after Christmas. There was Holiday decor with dogs and a hot chocolate station. It was a perfect getaway! The water is so close and relaxing. I loved that there was a dock on the water.The house is adorable and so cozy! I loved the nook in the wall that was one of our kids and dog's favorite spots. They had board games for the kids. The house felt like a home, so clean and had all the comforts of home. It was near Grand Rapids so we took Derek's advice and went ice skating downtown. Grand Haven was not far so we drove there and experienced all Grand Haven offers. We loved the area and the home. Derek and Ashley made us feel so welcome and truly enjoyed our vacation. Thank you for everything!

We had a great time at this sweet beach house. It was the perfect size for our family, and very cozy in November.

This place is so beautiful! We had a family get together, and the house was just amazing! It had three nice big bedrooms with plenty of room for the entire family. There was a big game room downstairs, and toys for the kids. Big, beautiful windows in the kitchen to look out on the lake in the cold weather. The beds were so nice, and everything was set up beautifully! There was even a gigantic Christmas tree set up in the living room. Talk about cozy, we wanted to stay there forever! We will be back!

Beautiful lakefront property, plenty of room for a family, nice accommodations and amenities, plus a very friendly, proactive Host. We would love to take advantage of all the opportunities the Gun Lake community provides during the summer months and would definitely return here to stay.

Wally so generously had the cottage ready earlier than expected. Picking up the keys at the gallery was simple and convenient with the cottage so close by. The cottage is quaint, cozy and beautifully appointed with colorful art and unique items. The location is right in town, so we didn't need to use our vehicle during our stay and only did so to explore the surrounding area. The cottage has an enclosed small yard area, which was great as we brought our small dog. There are great shops and restaurants within a few blocks. During our stay I looked at the Airbnb website to check availability for the summer! I highly recommend Dumela Cozy Cottage!

Stayed at Tina and Ed's beautiful lakefront cottage for a much needed 3 night mid winter escape. Dog friendly, very clean and a perfect lodging choice to rest and unwind. Comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, clean appliances and lots of windows with a great view. Friendly communication from hosts with clear information. Due to a health issue, we prefer a relatively warmer room temperature.....we were able to self control the thermostat with approval to do so from host. 5 star rating from us....Don't hesitate to stay here!

We stayed at Romain’s place in Spring Lake for a few nights in November. This location was perfect for us. It’s a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Quiet streets that are great for dog walks! The cottage was well designed, super comfortable, and warm and cozy during some snow storms that came through. It was really nice sitting in the cottage and watching the snow fall with the view of the lake in the background. Romain was helpful and responsive. There is a grocery store, few restaurants and a bakery 4 minutes away. The cottage is also a short walk to a small public beach on Spring Lake. This area was cozy during winter months and I’m sure would be fun and lively during summer months. There is a big back yard. WiFi was good. I would recommend this place!

Loved the place! It was cozy & decorated so cute! We were looking for a peaceful, serene place & this is it! The price was affordable which was a factor for us. Kayaking around the lake was really fun. It was the perfect meeting place for two friends traveling from different states. Carrie had bought us 2 things that we mentioned we were looking forward to, which was SO very kind.

Didn’t get to meet Jon and Lori but we enjoyed our stay. Everything was just as listed and very comfortable. Definitely a great location. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We feel so fortunate to have found this beautiful home, spacious enough for our kids, their spouses and our grandchildren! The kitchen is so well stocked with not only everything you’ll need for cooking, but also with spices and condiments! We will not hesitate to book this home again! Ben was so responsive to my questions and his communication was great! No complaints about this beautiful rental!

A beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean and personalized for us, such a nice touch! Had everything we needed for a weekend away. Not a lot of food choices super close, but we knew this and had fun adventuring out despite the cold weather! I know our kids would love the beach and lake should we return during summer months! The downfall would be that pets aren’t allowed:( Lynn was very responsive when we asked questions prior to arriving. She even left a cell phone number for us if we needed anything during our stay. Great hosts and a beautiful home. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is the spot!

Perfect for our needs. Went there in the winter so didn’t really get to enjoy the lake house feel. Minutes from downtown Douglas, Douglas beach, and Saugatuck. We drove to Holland for Hop Cat beer and Sperry movie theatre. The only thing we missed was conditioner in the shower. TV channels were great. Reminded my husband of this parents’ cottage in Wisconsin when he was growing up.

Awesome spot close to Grand Haven. 1 mile from the beach and 25 mins from Grand Rapids! Loved the area. So much to do and we’ll be back. House was clean and accommodating. Had everything we needed and good parking available.
