We had a wonderful weekend at The Key to the Esk. The cottage more than lived up to expectations and well worth the money. Our dog loved the large garden and the hot tub was superb! The cottage was so cosy and the bathroom was amazing. There is a gate that leads directly to the river Esk which was a lovely walk. Thanks again for a lovely stay and would 100% return.

If ever you wanted a tranquil getaway - with nature on your doorstep but with the modern touch - then this is accommodation is for you. Beautifully modernised and spotlessly clean - and idyllic! Having the hottub under the stars made it perfect Definately be back in the summer for another “reset” of life Thank you

The cottage was cosy and clean with lots of things to keep us entertained- especially the darts board and hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked and modern and the local host was very helpful and responsive when we needed help as well. Overall I would 100% recommend and well worth the stay :)

We had a really lovely long weekend at Rose Barn cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped with everything needed. Towels were provided for the hot tub too. Hot tub was fabulous. Beautiful area. Hosts were so lovely and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely w returning.

where to begin, we both fell in love with the cottage instantly. from the log burner, huge kitchen, beautiful jacuzzi bath, spacious bedroom and private little sanctuary with a hot tub in the garden. 2 days just wasn't long enough. Sally and Nick couldn't have been any nicer and exceeded all expectations. hope to see you again soon.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. It was clean snug and warm and had everything we needed to make it a memorable weekend. Diana is very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home straight away I would thoroughly recommend it

Fantastic find. We booked this for a Christmas/ new year break and found home from home with Emma decorating cottage to make us feel it was just that. Extremely private in ever changing landscapes with weather conditions but that said had good weather for season. Got out and about on recommendations. Farmers arms a good local and friendly . Ulverston offers great alternatives in wet weather, canal walk, museum and crystal showroom. We ventured out to Buttermere, Wray castle and other surrounding areas. We stayed for 2 nights and the weather was horrendous BUT the cottage more than made up for this. We had everything we needed for some peace and quiet and a well needed rest. Cosy, welcoming and SPOTLESSLY clean! The cottage is on the main road but we never heard any traffic and the river running alongside was a lovely backdrop. Log fire, Netflix, a hot tub great WiFi and plenty of space for us all (including our dog). There is also a sauna which we didn’t use. The cottage is well equipped for cooking and was never cold at all! Plenty of steaming hot water and lovely big bath was a highlight too. We didn’t need to contact Jane for much as her instructions were so easy to understand. The couple of messages we did send however were responded to immediately. We will definitely be back and hopefully have better weather so we can explore the local area more. Thanks so much Jane and see you again soon! x

Super cosy and comfortable cottage. All the rooms were clean and refurbished to a high standard. Lovely views and great set-up with a wood burner in the living room and a massive free standing bath in the bathroom. Perfect location to do lots of walks in the close area. Only 30 minutes from Keswick and 20 minutes from Cockermouth. We will definitely visit again!

A lovely cosy cottage, nicely furnished with very comfortable beds and a great sized kitchen. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

A wonderful cottage in a fabulous location. Fizz, fresh bread and homemade jam to greet us. Lovely warm and surprisingly large cottage with a gorgeous view of the ford. Great walks straight from the door with wildlife aplenty (sadly no red squirrels but our host did point us to a hotel where we managed to see them). All in all, a cracking place to stay.

Lovely spacious cottage within easy reach of Cockermouth. Had everything provided could possibly need and even a jar of dog treats. The whole cottage was immaculate and clean. Would certainly recommend and return myself again in the future.

Beautiful cozy cottage with great location to the shops in Dumfries and stunning views. We had a great time with my partner and definitely will be back in the future. The cottage was fully equipped and has clear instructions. Thank you for the hospitality.

Lovely house in a beautiful location. Detailed and clear instructions to check in, great kitchen with everything you need, comfy beds, nice showers. Would stay again. Recommend The Old Man of Coniston walk just behind the house.

Catherine is an excellent host, great communication and keen that everything is ok, quick response to queries raised. lovely welcome touch, of milk, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit juice jam, butter and apples and a supply of tea and coffee. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the cottage was very cosy and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing couple of days away, Deborah & Tim where very helpful and welcoming, the Bluetooth mirror was definitely one of my favourite quirks to this cottage!

We had an absolutely gorgeous and relaxing weekend at the cottage. With the sun shining we enjoyed paddle boarding and swimming in the lake then warming up in the hot tub! The cottage is quirky and cosy, we loved the wood burning stove in the evening. The swing seat in the garden was also perfect for an afternoon snooze in the sun ☀️ Ruth very kindly dropped off a bottle of bubbly as we had some birthdays in the party which was such a sweet extra touch! We will be back.

Absolutely lovely place very quiet, nice walking routes. Very good host enjoyed every minute. Will defo be booking again.

Lovely little cottage, ideal location for attending wedding at Lochside Hotel, 5minute drive/30mins walk (local taxi fare was set fee of £20 one way unfortunately). Our stay was very short (purely for attending a wedding), but, had we have been staying longer, Hugh gave us plenty of suggestions of places to visit. Helpful information in visitors book too. Lovely host, very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed, reminded us to contact them, should we experience any problems.

Great spot in the world to get away from it all, and just enjoy the scenery. Even a damp and chilly few days in November could not take away the warmth inside and the view outside. The walk down to the lake in the morning with the dog was the highlight.
