Chalet vacation rentals in Gatineau

Thanks, Peter, for the lovely stay at your Chalet and being such an accommodating host. The house is very tidy, clean, and has all the amenities we needed. We loved watching the snow flakes fall outside, and all the natural light that shines through the enormous windows. The place is quiet, cozy and warm. Nicely appointed. Being nestled in the woods, we enjoyed exploring the property with the dog (despite the snow and the Spring run-off making the woods quite wet, but wearing rubber boots, we were able to scout around. Easy 10 min drive to all major stores & factory outlets. I would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed at Benoit's charming cottage on Lac Macgregor and had a wonderful experience. The property was beautifully situated, with stunning views of the lake. The cottage itself was cozy and well-maintained. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing on the lake, exploring the nearby islands, and relaxing on the spacious deck by the water and on the large deck at the back of the cottage where he had several meals (not wanting to miss an ounce of summer). Benoit was wonderful - he's very helpful and friendly, ensuring we had everything needed for a fantastic getaway.

Despite the rain and the fog at the end of December which did not allow for usual outdoor lwinter activities like skiing, snowshoeing or even skating, we had an excellent time at the cottage. Our family of five adults enjoyed playing lots of board games, we had plenty of firewood for the indoor fireplace and there was plenty of comfortable seats to enjoy a movie. We took some walks on the very quiet and peaceful roads around the cottage. Wifi and cell reception were good The kitchen was well stocked and clean. We appreciated the large windows overlooking the lake. And the cozy sunroom off the kitchen was a wonderful little spot to watch the numerous birds coming to the birdfeeder. Overall, we had a great few days relaxing in a very nice cottage.

Our group of 8 friends spent an amazing long weekend at Friendly Fires and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The place is quirky and cute in all the right ways… We experienced all 4 seasons in 3 days (19° and sunshine followed by freezing rain and snow), but the property has so many different areas to hang out and activities for entertainment and relaxing that we were never on top of each other or bored. We’re already planning our next visit, can’t wait to go back!

I had an amazing stay at this charming chalet—clean, cozy, and equipped with everything needed for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub and peaceful location were perfect, and it was still conveniently close to hiking trails and ski hills. The host was responsive and check-in was seamless—I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to return!

We enjoyed our stay at Jeff's place. The cottage is thoughtfully designed with lots of natural light, pleasant wall art and two balconies to observe the lake and tree canopy. The cottage was minimally equipped but very neat & tidy. We took the provided canoe for a nice ride to explore the lake and its islands. Overall a nice spot to get away from the city.

Our stay was great. We loved the house and the surroundings. The place is spacious and comfortable . Is was very clean and it corresponded to the pictures and description. It’s a perfect place for time with family. Linda was a superb host. She was very responsive and helpful.

Spent 3 nights with 6 people and had a great stay. Easy, clear, flexible check in. Accurate listing. Nice house for good price. Hot tub was huge, hot and ready with a path shovelled in the snow. Tons of storage space in the house, big pantry and closets. Lots of clean towels for the hot tub. 15-20 minute drive to Edelweiss Ski Hill, 40 minutes from Ottawa. 3 feet of snow fell during our visit, the driveway was cleared quickly. Lots of parking space. We were able to make do with a front wheel drive but got stuck during the worst of the storm. Recommend 4wd for bad weather. The house had plenty of cooking/kitchen equipment. Coffee machine, toaster, blender and kettle. Some spices and seasoning. TV in living room on main floor. We were able to extend our trip for an extra night last minute with no issues. Minimal communication from host but we didn’t have any issues or need to contact them after check in.

We had a wonderful fall weekend get away. James cottage was perfect for what we wanted. Quiet, great view of the lake, nice toasty fire inside for the cool nights. We had a nice weekend! We will book again.

Great rustic cottage, super well equipped, lakefront with campfire, spa, private beach. We loved the espresso coffee maker, the super tranquil lake, the sunsets, and the campfire all by the lake.

Wow what a great location, so private and truly a gem of a retreat. The building is magnificent, natural wood accents everywhere. You can tell the quality that was put into this home. Will certainly consider seeing the natural setting this Summer. Hosts were super accommodating and very responsive. If there was one thing to know, if you bring young kids or grandkids, consider bringing some of your regular plates/bowls etc… the quality of the dinnerware that is supplied is top quality, sturdy and painted with beautiful patterns - top notch for sure, so you wouldn’t want to the little ones to break any of it!

Amazing property and hosts. Erin & Sadique were extremely responsive and answered all our questions. They even provided a high chair for my daughter on request. The property is expansive and you will truly feel like you have a private lake. The living room is so spacious and the wood makes it feel cozy despite the big size. The rooms are top notch much much better than your average Air BnB sinking mattresses. The bathroom in the main bedroom on the ground floor is just amazing. Our group made full use of the hot tub, easily accommodated 5 at a time and was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this place!

We were 4 adults for 5 days. Was a perfect space for our group. Simons place was extremely clean and had great amenities. They were very quick to respond to any questions we had and were so accommodating. We had a great outdoor fire and had the indoor fire going the whole time we were there. There is no cell service at the cottage but the wifi signal is very strong and as long as you have wifi calling there is not a problem at all. The views are amazing and we walked around the lake a few times and watched the river just down the road. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet intimate getaway in nature.
