A former Fisherman House in Ortigia Island, the historical city center of Syracuse and at walking distance from everything you want to do and see. With its original atmosphere kept, the house has been renewed with sophisticated simplicity and combining traditional materials with a contemporary style. You will have access to an amazing bright white big terrace with a spectacular wide sea view and paved with local lime stone. The Terrace has the size of a small plaza and has the same atmosphere of a typical small plaza facing the sea. The terrace is completely private to the property. Overlooking the city and the sea, this vacation home rental in Sicily immerses you into the UNESCO designated heart of Syracuse on the island of Ortigia. A former fisherman's house, the property is divided into two distinctive living spaces surrounding a rooftop terrace. The apartment faces the courtyard and includes an intimate sitting room and kitchen, and an alcove bed featuring a giant "arabescato" Carrara marble slab that divides the space from the bathroom. The adjacent studio faces the Mediterranean and has a private balcony to enjoy the the view and the sea breeze and sleeps two. Restored with sophisticated simplicity and contemporary style, the interiors are painted a crisp white and punctuated with colorful ceramic tile and bolts of blue, creating fresh light filled spaces. The large shared terrace was designed with the same limestone used in the nearby castle and is a virtual extension of the "Forte San Giovannello" pedestrian path. Its far wall is punctuated with handcrafted tile from Cartagiorone in an organic wave pattern inspired by Ellsworth Kelly and includes an open air shower marked by a giant red circle (indicating the direction of the sunrise). Designed for outdoor living, it's an ideal spot to dine and lounge while enjoying picturesque views of the city and the sea. Traditional and contemporary, this is a stylish option in the heart of the enchanting island of Ortigia. This property has two apartment and is also perfect if you are family or a group of people. This apartment has only one bedroom and you will be able to get the second and completely independent apartment only if you are more then 2 people and under a specific request with a raise of price. After the third guest we will offer you a second unit/bedroom in the same property. In the same property there is a courtyard apartment with one bedroom and a completely indipendent studio with a small kitchenette. Both unit they will share the very big (100 sqm) terrace with sea view and open air shower. We may offer different packages with shared or not shared terrace. The very big terrace (basically the size of a Piazzetta in the city center) is shared only with the small studio (max for 2 people ) in the same property. You can pay an extra charge only if you really want the exclusivity of the terrace for you (the door terrace has a key). Please let us know your preference before your final booking. If necessary you can access the apartment with a secret digital code (in the blue street door) that we will provide by sms or within a message the day before your arrival. We are available for you most of the time, but sometime we will be busy with our work and we set the apartment to be accessible by yourself 24/7. We have detailed instructions that we will send you by email. This apartment is located on the eastern waterfront of the island of Ortigia. It's 1 of the 5 traditional neighborhoods of Syracuse, and is actually the old city center. Nearby Ru Frati has a beachfront bike path, idyllic at sunrise and sunset. Just at one minute walking there is a public Parking (TALETE Parking) if you arrive by car. Please be aware that for your own security there is a security camera in the terrace. The second unit/bedroom and second bathroom will be available only if you are more then 3 guests. If you are less then 3 people the terrace may be shared with other guests occupying the small studio balcony in the same property that most of the time is not occupied. We will let you know if the terrace would be shared during your occupancy previous your arrival. You should separate your own garbage according to instructions and put outside the street door the bins according to calendar (see house rules)

Terrace Sea View in the Town Center Design and Art

Step into a home where the minimalist decor is elevated by designer lighting, vintage furnishings, and contemporary art adorning the walls. The apartment is on a top floor 1880 building, NO ELEVATOR (travel light), the location is on the centre of Siracusa (5 min walk from Ortigia and the other amenities of the town) bars restaurants and small and big supermarkets are walking distance (maximum 5 min) . There's one bed room (ask if you need a baby bed) with a double queen size bed. One spacious bathroom and a kitchen. A full furnished apartment with everything you need, coffee maker, kettle, washing machine dishes. The terrace has a unique view, perfect for dinners and an aperitivo at sunset. Over looking on the small bay the east view and the west view overlooking on the mountains, if you're lucky you'll be able to see the Volcano Etna. I use to live on the same floor, in another apartment at the next door Archeological park is 10 min walk, the bus station and train station are 5 min walk, beach and historical sites in less then 10 min walk.
