You can relax delightfully in the sauna and hot tub and relax in the swing overlooking the water. Our favorite place was the seat "in" the window. We would gladly came back. Thanks for everything

We had such an amazing stay at this place! Came with a group of friends and all our kids, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The house was super clean, spacious, and had everything we needed—from a fully stocked kitchen to comfy beds and even toys and games to keep the little ones happy. The outdoor area was a total bonus—great space for the kids to run around while the adults relaxed. The location was ideal too—peaceful but still close enough to park, caffe and pub. The host was incredibly helpful and responsive, which made everything so easy. I’d recommend this spot to anyone—families, groups of friends, or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Great weekend with nice weather. We used the delicious fire pit a lot where we could sit overlooking the lake. Despite the season, we stayed here a lot. We went for a walk of about 7.2 km around the lake. a wonderful walk where we passed a lovely beach at the other end of the lake. Here you can swim in the lake if you feel like it. Canoes and rowboats are located so you can just put them in the water and take a trip out on the lake. It just worked out so well. Had a little trouble finding enough life jacket in adult sizes. I think there were the most children's vests. There is a grocery store in the city, so here you can buy small things if you have forgotten something. However, no firewood. A super lovely home located close to the highway and very easy to find. Great surroundings and great activity opportunities. A home that can really be recommended to others who want to enjoy the silence and nature. Ninna Kryger

Cozy and private space, as described in the accommodation information. We booked because of the good reviews we saw and we share the same opinion! Quiet nights, without any noise and we still managed to have the opportunity to see a fox that passed by near the place: it was a very beautiful sight and that only demonstrates how real the "Nature and tranquility" point is. We want to go back and repeat the experience! They were super nice and helpful the whole time! Note: The jacuzzi is comfortable but we advise you to turn it on a few hours before you want to use it because it is normal to take time to warm up hehe

The stay was just wonderful – just the kind of peace and quiet you want after the hustle and bustle of a big city. The idyllic location and the fantastic views have provided pure relaxation and immediately put us in the holiday mood. As a group, it was incredibly difficult for us to leave this lovingly furnished house after just two days – we felt so comfortable. A special highlight was the spacious barbecue, which gave us cozy evenings under the open air. If you value peace, comfort and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. We will definitely be happy to come back and highly recommend this place!

We had a very pleasant 4 days in Alain's house. Close to the sea, the house is very spacious, bright and comfortable. We will be back!

We had an amazing stay here, with 4 adults and 3 children (and a small dog). Lots of berry and mushroom picking, canoeing, enjoying the beautiful lake, sauna and hot tub and even catching a few fishes. No need to go anywhere else, there is more than enough to do on the property and surroundings. Pentti was always very responsive and nice. There was everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back here and wish we’d been able to stay longer.

A great location with beautiful views. Close enough to walk to cafes and restaurants and striking distance to the Hoe and Barbican. Dave was very responsive throughout (thanks for the logs and kindling 😊) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the cottage for 4 weeks and loved every minute of it. The cottage is everything you’d want from an authentic cottage experience with modern amenities thrown in. The location is peaceful with easy walks to Lake Corrib and the castle. Oughterard itself is a friendly, welcoming town and the cottage is a great home base to explore Connemara. But the best part of staying at Knockbroughaun Cottage are the owners, Pat and Mary Angela. From my arrival to my departure, they both were wonderful hosts. They are so friendly and helpful. I didn’t go wrong with Pat’s suggestions for places to visit in the area, and the Bookshop was a great place to stop in and relax. They have the best cappuccino too! I can’t wait to return to Knockbroughaun cottage. It was like a home away from home!

We had a fantastic time at the Wren, beautiful views, my cockerpoo Marley thought he was in heaven, having breakfast on the patio with views over the lake was bliss, lovely walks, would definitely go back next year👍👍👍

Just returned after our stay at the beautiful cottage. We were blessed with good weather throughout and were able to walk to the nearest pub for a nice dinner and enjoy some time by the water. We were hoping to make use of the kayaks and paddleboard but had quite a hectic schedule and unfortunately seemed to miss the daily high tide. This is something to consider if staying at the cottage to make use of this but Nic was amazing at providing all the details, apps and local tips we needed to plan for the tide and also explore the surrounding areas. If we had made it out on the water that would have been a bonus but it wasn't the main reason for our trip. The cottage is exactly like the pictures and served us well as a base for our family of 4. Having access to various streaming on the TV is also a handy bonus if, like me, you don't like signing in to your accounts while away but we mostly played cards in the evenings and the giant bean bags in the lounge came in handy for that. Loved it.

The cottage was nice and warm on arrival. Very cozy cottage and very beautiful area. For questions, we were able to contact Asbjørn and we were well helped. Everything is great!!

We had a wonderful relaxing mini vacation in this cottage. The location is perfect, in the middle of beautiful nature, next to it, the calming atmosphere. The place offers complete privacy and your own peace, without disturbance or other people. In the cool of the fall, a warm lot was a really lovely addition and complemented our stay. The cottage was very clean and well-kept, the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for peace and the beauty of nature around you!

Very cozy cabin, beautiful field views, the whole family slept so well. We rested very well ! The cabin was very clean, nice pillows and blankets, there was plenty of space and more than in most similar places.

Great, spacious and very well equipped log cabin. The cabin is close to Haukelifjell ski center and a fantastic mountain world and has parking space for 3-4 cars. Sveinung had arranged clearing and it was definitely required. We rented the cabin with an annex and it gave us 7 men very ample bolting space - we could easily be twice as many. There is a very well equipped kitchen and it suited us foody guys very well. The only thing we couldn't do was the stomp. It probably requires even more patient and prolonged firing than the 6 hours we spent. Anyway an incredibly great stay and a nice and accommodating host.

If you are looking for peace and quiet and complete and utter tranquility, then this is the place for you. Everything we needed was catered for and the cabin was spotlessly clean. The hot tub was perfect. I don’t think I have ever felt so relaxed from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. 100% we will be booking again and have already recommended the place to friends. The cabin had everything you could need. It was very cozy and private. The owner was very kind and helped us with our car problem then offered us help with some other troubles that we had at the time. Its very nice to see and meet people like the cabin owner☺️ Thank you once again!

A lovely, quiet and peaceful place Amy and Dee have. Location is great, private and the cabin itself is exactly as the pictures show. A great place for a getaway. Will most definately be looking to come back in near future.
