Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Essex County

We planned a trip to Boston and had to leave early to avoid a snow storm. Karen was extremely flexible, made it so that we could extend our stay but arriving early at her inconvenience. This is going above and beyond for clients. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. A lot of good restaurants and quaint stores nearby. This was a memorable trip for us. Thank you Karen for making that happen for us.

We loved our stay at this property. The house is much more historic and lived in, if you are after a pristine and modern stay, this might not be the place for you. But the house more than made up for it in character and cozy vibes, and it fit in perfectly in the charming historic neighborhood in Marblehead. The area has a lot of wonderful spots you can walk to, and the host provided historical information about the area and the house as well! We were so grateful for John’s proactive communication, we didn’t have any issues but I’m confident if we had he would have quickly resolved them! Overall my family had a wonderful weekend and we spent the drive home saying home much we’d love to make another trip in the summer to enjoy the ocean more!! Thanks John for a memorable weekend!

We had a fantastic time at the "Salty Girl" house. The size and layout were perfect for our family, and it was easy to get to with convenient parking included. My kids loved the bunk beds, and the lower bed was a full-size, which was ideal for my tall 16-year-old. All the rooms were spotless, and the linens were fresh and comfortable. The owners were very responsive and offered excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to visit again!

We had a lovely stay at Lauren’s place! The home has tons of space, a very well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds and couches. It’s a great home base for visiting family in the area. We really appreciate Lauren’s helpful communication throughout our stay too.

Had everything you needed to sleep, cook and stay while visiting family.

This was a best of all worlds for a family birthday celebration. The property was big enough to be comfortable, with outdoor seating to allow us to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. We could gather around the counter in the kitchen, in the living room area and had the option (which we did not use) for a family style dinner in the dining area. Beds were comfortable and the house was spotless. Instructions for entry and use of kitchen and tv were very helpful and specific (not all newer tech is intuitive, and this was well anticipated by our hosts). The location is close to Salem for a daytime Halloween visit and the option to walk around Marblehead during the evening trick or treat activities, finishing with a walk from the house to an elevated harbor point to watch the closing festivities in Salem across the way. We all were completely impressed with the property and the location and would look to stay there again.

We had a fantastic stay at Peter and Maria’s place! They were wonderful hosts—quick to respond to any questions and incredibly thoughtful in ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. The house itself is absolutely adorable, with a cozy and inviting feel. It’s fully stocked with everything you could need—kitchen appliances, coffee, a kettle, utensils, and even a well-stocked shower. Whether you’re cooking, relaxing, or just settling in, you’ll have everything you need to feel at home. The neighborhood is welcoming, surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a peaceful and enjoyable place to stay. I highly recommend this Airbnb and will definitely be returning in the future!

This is an older ranch with a spacious kitchen and super comfortable beds. A beautiful beach is steps down the road. It is the first house off the highway, so you may hear traffic noise. There is a dehumidifier, which you will need to turn to the highest setting. The host is friendly and very responsive.

We really enjoyed our stay. Super convenient, short walk right off the T just a few stops from the airport. Everything was clean and comfortable with all the amenities of being right at home. The fully stocked fridge and snacks sets Shawn’s place far above the rest. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Of my many stays at AirBnB's this was one of my favs. The place is cute, comfortable and there are a lot of little things designed to make you love it. From heated floors to great furniture, to great internet, to little touches like easy to reach plugs, everything is exactly what you need. It's near (10-15 min walk) to Davis Square which is full of shops and restaurants. Steve and Nancy are kind, caring and accommodating. they made sure I had a place to drop of my bags when needed and easy check out. Overall I cant say enough wonderful things. Stay there and you wont regret it. In fact, you will love it and will not want to leave.

When I AirBnB, I prioritize 2 things - clean and easy. And Lisa's place was both. Very clean, easy in/out, and had all the extra stuff you need in case you forgot anything. Completely hassle free for our long weekend, would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful apartment, with its many personal touches. We visit Cambridge from the UK as often as we can to see our daughter and son in law, and it is so nice to feel ‘ at home’. The beds are super comfortable and the shower an absolute joy!! We came in from out of town for a few days and were so pleased with our stay. The house was clean and comfortable. It was very close to the beach and walkable to the center for entertainment and restaurants. We would absolutely book again. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Our family really enjoyed our long weekend at Donald’s place. The location is great, right in the middle of Marblehead, walkable to old town and the various shops and restaurants that dot the area— a great base for visiting friends and family on the north shore. We’ll definitely look to stay here again if available the next time we’re in the area.

My stay at the Marsh-Mellow, hosted by MaryJane, was phenomenal. From check-in to check-out, the process was simple as MaryJane had clear, detailed instructions on how to enter as well as great recommendations on what to do in the area. I have no hesitation when I recommend this space as your next getaway trip. You will not be disappointed!

This was a wonderful stay. Host was responsive when we needed something but never invasive. Location was a short 5 minute drive from town - close enough to be an easy trip but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful at night. Would stay again.

This location was great! Walkable to the main attraction areas but off the beaten path for a more private feel. The home was so clean and modern. All three bedrooms were a great size. The bathroom was very updated and the built in shower system was awesome, with great water pressure. Tristan was a great host and very responsive. Would definitely go back!

Kelly's place was perfect for myself and my husband and two year old daughter. It's a gorgeous and tastefully updated older home. Everything was very comfortable, very clean, and in a great location only a mile or so from downtown Salem and walkable to coffee and restaurants. Kelly was super responsive and helpful before, during, and after our visit.

Christina's property was a wonderful place to escape to for a few days! It is the perfect size for 1-2 people, has everything you need, and the view is unbeatable. The parking space is incredibly convenient and the location of the property provides easy access to the rest of Bearskin Neck and Rockport proper. I hope to stay here again in the future!

If you’re going around winter, it looks really beautiful outside with all the Snow. The only thing that I didn’t like was the parking. We had to park pretty far away. That was like a 8min walk wouldn’t have mind the walk if it wasn’t snowing and raining.But over all I will definitely book this place again if we ever go back to Salem. Oh another thing, the stores are super close by. The furthest we’ve drove was a 35 minute drive and that was to Boston. Also the host replies back really fast.
