Cottage vacation rentals in Craster

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our getaway to Kersmains bothy. It felt very luxurious, with plenty of space for two! The sunroom/ kitchen is a lovely space to cook and the living room is so cosy and atmospheric in the evenings. We loved the hot tub under the stars as there is very little light pollution. Perfect for a country escape to the borders.

A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

We had an amazing stay here. The property was lovely, spacious, clean, in an ideal location and the hot tub was a great perk. Marie and Steve were easy to communicate with, super hospitable /kind and in general made our stay enjoyable and stress free! Would highly recommend.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Paul & Debbie are amazing hosts who are willing to help with anything we asked. Although just a short drive from Newcastle, we felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage is gorgeous and extremely comfortable with everything you need including the most amazing private hottub. But the most amazing experience is with the alpacas who you can see from the cottage, have the opportunity to feed them and even take them for a walk which was just incredible. We were sorry to have to leave but will most definitely be returning! Thank you Paul & Debbie 😀

Had an absolutely amazing time here! 5 of us squished in nicely for the weekend and had an amazing time. We got the hot tub working and it was nice to be able to having something to do and watch whilst chilling, did find it a little tricky to maintain the temperature throughout the day. We cooked loads and there were loads of pans, pots, cutlery and everything else we needed to cook. Only thing that was tricky was the smoke alarm kept going off despite the doors and windows all being open. Was solved by wafting a tea towel at it but was still a little annoying. The place feels really spacious despite being quite small because of the skylights and windows so that was amazing. The hosts were wonderful and great at replying so we honestly couldnt really fault the place and are hoping to come back again for another little weekend away!!!

We had the most wonderful stay! Angela’s cottage is beautiful, a relaxing setting with lots to do not far away. Angela was helpful from the time of booking and looked after us so well whilst we were there. This is a gem of a place with a fantastic host.

Anna's barn conversion was the perfect escape to Northumberland we were after with plenty of room and great facilities. It proved a great central hub for us to have family days out in the countryside, with the home comforts to enjoy once back. Can't wait to visit again!

North Lodge is the perfect, peaceful get-away. This was our second stay here - our first was in June 2021. It’s a beautifully appointed detached single storey lodge in its own grounds. Warm, comfortable, and offers easy access to some stunning local beauty spots including Bamburgh Castle and beach, Alnwick Castle and gardens, Holy Island, to name but a few. There’s nothing I would change here - well/equipped with high quality fixtures, fittings, linen, towels, and a log burner for the winter and a private garden for the summer. We will return again for sure.

Amazing from start to finish. Philippa is the perfect host - we stayed with our children and forgot our stroller 🙈 she kindly left us one to use during her stay. The cottage was lovely and clean, everything there you needed! Comfy bed and very spacious! Views were stunning - a real treat waking up to the Northumberland countryside.

We stayed here for 3 nights but wish it could’ve been longer. We’ll definitely be back. Was a refreshing change of scenery from the busy town life we live. Close to Bamburgh castle and beach where our dog experienced sand for the first time and she loved it!

Absolutely lovely stay at Diane's place. We were so comfortable and cosy there. Its a nicely decorated space and the house has everything you need as well as being in a great location. Diane gave loads of great local recommendations and went above and beyond. Would stay here again.

A beautiful place to stay inside and out. The views were breathtaking! Our little dogs loved playing in the garden which was well fenced (even our mischievous Westie couldn’t find a way to escape!) The fire was such a nice touch, we loved having fires each day. Wood was supplied if you didn’t use the heating which was great! Coming from a city we don’t have a fire so happy to not use the heating! Kate was so responsive and really friendly. We even had some fresh eggs from her hens which was so lovely. We were thrilled to see the property in snow on our last night/day it really just rounded off our stay perfectly! If you are thinking about booking..do it! Also the shower is great! (Always something I judge! Haha) Can’t wait to rebook!❤️

Great place to stay for a short break by the sea, as others have mentioned very cosy and close to all the amenities in Seahouses. Rachel was very helpful.

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Sunrise Cottage. The house was cosy, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Peter kindly provided tea, milk and butter which was so helpful. Would highly recommend and we would love to stay again!

We had a fantastic weekend away. The house looks exactly like its photos and was extremely clean. Ross and Gillian were very friendly and had preemptively turned on the heating and had goodies for us to enjoy upon our arrival which was very appreciated. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk were provided which was also appreciated. The views from the windows were stunning and we even had perfect sunsets each night. The small patio was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the serenity and a glass of wine. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Rupert is a really lovely, positive and friendly host along with his lovely wife. It felt like nothing would be too much trouble. The cottage was perfect for us; warm, cosy and romantic with a lovely view. Our dog Nellie 🐕 had a wonderful time too. She enjoyed watching all the birds in the lovely enclosed garden. We'd love to come back one day 😃.

This is a lovely cottage which has been restored with great care and attention to detail. The location is ideal for exploring the Scottish borders and Northumberland. Having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was a great advantage. The host was very responsive and provided us with really helpful information about the cottage and aspects of the local area. The Contented Vine restaurant in Kelso was perfect for our evening out.

Nestled in the heart of the Borders, our cottage stay was simply idyllic. Picture-perfect cottage set in a beautiful countryside location, it was the perfect escape. The cottage itself was charmingly furnished, with every comfort thoughtfully provided. Days were spent exploring the nearby historic towns and walking the beautiful countryside, while evenings were for cosy nights in. A truly restorative and lovely break.

Fantastic holiday in a stunning location. Eildon was super-helpful and arriving to hone-baked cakes after a long trip was wonderful. The cottage was perfect for us and it is tucked into the most beautiful valley with stunning walks from the door. In addition, there are loads of beautiful beaches and castles etc all within easy reach by car. Thank you so much!
