Even with the gondola being down in kicking horse at the moment, we are glad we never changed our plans and kept our great reservation at the Smiley Wolf! The beds and space is very comfortable and the photos don’t even do as much justice as the actual place! Thanks again Ben and Vera!!

We had a fantastic stay at this property. Firstly, the views are surreal; like something out of a movie. Each morning, wed wake up to herds of either elk or deer grazing in the field below the mountain views. The marsh, across the field, was great for bird watching. The cabin-like home was very spacious, clean, cozy and all the necessary supplies - and more, were provided for our stay. The property is located perfectly; it’s just far enough into the wilderness to provide tranquility although still within a reasonable driving distance to the town of Golden. Les and Krys were fantastic hosts. They were very quick to respond to our questions and provided us with privacy. We will, without a doubt, be returning to this property for a vacation in the future.

Absolutely breathtaking slice of heaven! The fully fenced yard was perfect to let the pup roam while we enjoyed the hot tub and mountain views. Having well marked trails straight from the door that led to the river is exactly what you want in a beautiful place like this. 10 out of 10!

This AirBnB was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was homey and perfect for the 4 of us. Beautiful views from the deck and hot tub. And a very friendly dog, Wallie. We were entertained daily by the rooster and hens. If looking for a place just off the beaten track with lots of amenities not that far away, this is the place. We would definitely go back if ever in the area again. Thanks Rhonda for being such a great host.

Great, clean place as our base for the weekend. Host was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with! Would highly recommend for a peaceful vacation.

Loved the cabin! Made me feel like I was back in the Colorado mountains. The view from the deck was incredible. There’s a beaver lodge down at the river, so you hear the little guy munching away; with some binoculars, we were able to see him swimming around which was super cool! Would definitely stay again. If you like a firm bed, choose the bedroom by the living room. Soft bed lovers, choose the one by the bathroom. Bring slippers as the floor is tile. For those curious, the cabin is about 2 hours from Banff proper.

Nice clean, private, peaceful place to stay.Everything was exactly as stated in the add.Provided towels, linens, plates, soaps and some condiments/spices that I forgot. They had firewood available for us to use as well. Awesome place to stay highly recommend to anyone looking to unplug !!

We really enjoyed our stay ! The beds and bedding were so comfy. The fireplace was one of our favourite parts. The location was super convenient,only a short drive to Fairmont for groceries,liquor and the hot springs. We’ll be back !

Amazing cabin in a beautiful location. It’s surrounded by mountains, a river and stars at night. Great location to travel to banff, yoho, kootenay, invermere etc. Great hosts as well. Definitely will visit again!

The cabin and surrounding area were amazing! Was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed. There was so much wildlife to see from the large windows. So many deer just grazing on the property, was very cool to just sit and watch them go about. Richard was an excellent host and Watson was very adorable. Would 100% come back and stay again. Felt right at home in this cozy place. The town of Golden was great to explore and had so many great eateries and surrounding activities to stay busy.

I enjoyed our stay! Definitely recommending to my co workers and family. We had some trouble getting there at first as we went an entire different route. Therefore beware of losing reception. Definitely go through Sundre, and follow directions from there. Besides that, it was a beautiful view, cabin was fitted for us all and we made it a good time away from home. Thank you for the great stay! Till we visit again :)

Beautiful place in a peaceful location. The host was very friendly and responsive. My family and I really enjoyed our stay.

I booked in last minute for a mini getaway and I’m so grateful Susan could accommodate. Upon my arrival, I walked into the cabin with the fireplace already on and some cozy socks warming up nearby — a perfect greeting after a chilly day spent in the mountains. It was a great spot to relax, unwind and just what my soul needed. I’d return in a heartbeat!

Frances was super nice and helpful and reached out about a week before our trip. She let us know there was construction which might increase the time it takes to drive in which was helpful to know. She responded almost immediately when we had questions. The cabin was chilly on arrival but has two space heaters and a wood fireplace, with wood and fire starting supplies right out front on the front door on the deck. The cabin is only 10 minutes from town with great pubs and little cafes. The only thing I would be mindful of is if you plan to take trips to Banff or Yoho, which we had planned, the trip is much longer (around three hours) when highway 1 is closed. Not sure how long they plan to have construction there. Often times the highway opens up on the weekends though. So just make sure you plan accordingly!

Loved this property! Rustic but with nice decorating and charm. If you love an older character house this is a gem. The view right outside the porch is incredible! The sound of the river and being in nature while still just a short walk away from all the amenities is a rarity. Definitely recommend bringing house shoes though as the floors are as described and need these to stay splinter free. The host is wonderful and we will certainly be returning. Thanks!

Possibly the most beautiful place we have ever been and stayed. Mists rising from the mountains and rainbows every morning in the golden light. Hiking trails right out of the cabin door to mountain springs and pools. We would live in this area!

Great cabin for a getaway with the views of the mountains. Bed was really comfy and the firepit was great to wind down the night to. Short distance to Golden to pick anything up in town.

The host was very accommodating and very communicative. It was a great experience and it's very clean.

Beautiful little cabin in the woods. Smartly appointed with everything you could ever need for a rustic stay. You'll need to navigate a ladder to the sleeping area, it's a childhood dream but have to have knees and balance to make it to bed. You'll be greeted by a very comfortable king bed and a window for fresh cool air. Such a treat to enjoy the firepit. If you're looking for a little adventure close to Calgary, you'll be charmed by this little cabin in the woods.

Rita was the best host I could ever think to have on my first trip to Canada super helpful and responds so quickly! Provided helpful instructions for check in and out to make things easy.

The cabin was absolutely comfortable and clean. It’s very quiet and fresh in the trees. Snow was melting and making the experience even better resting while listening to the melting snow and birds’ chatting. We had a very good time here, very peaceful and relaxing. Love it!

This cabin was exactly I needed. I loved how private and secluded it was. I travel quite regularly and I do mostly stays in cabins like Luise's. But Louise's cabin was by far the most cosiest one. I loved that there was a plenty of firewood outside ( I got to practise my choppin skills with an axe) :D And had the possibility to have an outdoor fire under the stars. I did appreciated that there was no wifi or reception, which helped me to disconnect with the outside world and enjoy ME time by the fire and read a book. I hope I stick around as I would love to come back for a longer weekend. Thank you Louise

My brother and I were finishing our BC ski tour of 5 ski resorts and previously we stayed between 2 and 3 nights at each resort location. This beautiful, new, clean, and cozy cabin was our last accommodation and was absolutely the best of all five locations. It is a about 10 minutes from Golden however there is local taxi service available which we found convenient for transportation for dining and entertainment in Golden. We highly recommend this accommodation.
