Wonderful spot! Gem of a location. Views are amazing! Definitely need 4WD to get to the cabin. Great little town has wonderful shops. It’s about 8 minutes from the cabin. The cabin has all you need for a short or extended stay.

The cabin was the perfect fit for our needs. It was beautiful, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The location was quiet and peaceful and in close proximity to everything that we wanted to do. Greg was an excellent host. We would love to return for additional visits in the future.

The house was perfect for our family’s annual after Christmas vacation! The views are amazing! There was plenty of room for the 12 of us. Since we always prepare a lot of our meals and the kitchen well equipped and worked out great. Did I mention the incredible views? You’re on top and can see mountains in every direction! It was Beautiful! The weather was cold and windy. It did snow a little but nothing that caused a problem traveling. Thank you Mickey for your concern about the possibility of ice on our departure morning and checking on us. Our new favorite place we have stayed! We loved it!

My wife and I booked Smawlie cabin for an overnight stay, to take a much needed break from the daily grind. I was initially attracted to the booking by the quaint and small cabin feel, with the added bonuses of a great view and hot tub! Mike (the host) was very responsive and provided an excellent level of details about the route there, activity suggestions, local eats, and other helpful tips. The views were excellent from the hot tub/deck; we had very clear skies and saw shooting stars! Cleanliness 100%, VERY comfy bed. The gravel drive to the top was a bit steeper than I anticipated, but our Toyota 4Runner made it up and down with no issues, even with snow and mildly icy tire tracks covering the gravel. 100% need 4WD drive to get up there though! I screenshotted the specific directions provided by Mike and also wrote them down in my notes; there was no cell phone reception out there. Plan your routes in and out before traveling! I would definitely recommend Smawlie to anyone!

I can’t rave enough about Darrell and the Black Bear Lodge. First, there was a winter storm moving in. Darrell messaged first and stated that we could check in early to avoid the bad weather. That is truly just going above and beyond. We quickly accepted his generous offer and were able to check in before the snow began. When we arrived, we found the Internet to not be working. I messaged Darrell and he had someone come out immediately to fix it. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. The bathrooms are clean and every room had ample bedding and pillows. The hot tub worked wonderfully and the views were spectacular. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our visit. It was cut short due to the weather, but Darrell still kept in touch after we left, inquiring if we made it home safely. I would 100% stay here again, and we are planning to!

First and foremost, Sergio is a great host. All of the information sent prior to our stay was great to have. He was very responsive to every message sent. The directions to the house were accurate and entry was seamless. The house is cozy and warm with everything you may need. We used all of the amenities; games, tv, hot tub, sauna, ping pong table- there really was no reason to leave the house. The weather wasn't great but we still made to it Cataloochee to ski, and having the hot tub to come back to was perfect!!! The view from the back porch was ever changing and always gorgeous. It was a wonderful way to bring our family together for a long weekend.

Our family - ages 5-78 - enjoyed our stay. Host was very responsive to questions. Home is laid out so even with 8 people we each had our own space. Loved waking up to the amazing view. All the places we wanted to visit were an easy drive from the home. We had a wonderful time and would go back in the future!

With plenty to do in Bryson and Cherokee, we'll definitely be returning to this stay. Spotless, clean house. Working amenities (hot tub was great for post-downtown and casino-perusing). Very generously warm shower. Enjoyed the modern style, furniture, and layout. Bed was comfortable too, with extra pillows supplied. Felt like a very private location (cant say we saw another person nearby or wandering around), but still very close to downtown Bryson. While there are train tracks and a trailer park nearby- would certainly not let either of these deter from booking with these hosts. Neither detracted from the lovely stay or were an issue. (also parking wasn't as bad as mentioned, but still understandable on their transparency; found it easiest just to pull in the lot across, and wait for traffic to quiet down, and then back in to the parking spot). 10/10, fair pricing- would reccomend this stay for anyone visiting the area. Hosts communicated swiftly and supportive.

Amazing house! Home was very clean and beatiful. The house is located on the side of the mountain and has amazing views from the deck and hot tub area. We had a large group and never felt confined or like we were on top of each other during our stay. Large dining table with leaf add ons, extra chairs and a extra folding table allowed us to eat together as family. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with anything you will need for cooking at home, even with a large group. Thomas has provided plenty of entertainment with the game room downstairs to the board games in the closet. Wifi was no issue. The driveway is steeper than your average driveway, but it is on the side of a mountain. We had 4 cars with us including a Nissan Altima and a Nissan 12 passenger van, neither of which had any issues with the driveway. Even with our 4 car vehicles we had ample room to park 3-4 more vehicles. If you are considering this place, please do not have any hesitation, It is well worth every penny!

The host Madeleine was very friendly and accomodating. The house was very clean and had all the amenities we required and was conveniently located to all our activities to Maggie Valley, Waynesville and all the activities the Smokey Mountains has to offer. I would stay there again.

Awesome place with lots of windows that show off the amazing view. Really cool modern cabin. We will definitely be back to stay again. Only 25 min to the casino.

This was a stunning peaceful location. The chalet was spotless and very comfortable. We stayed a full 7 nights and didn't want to leave this little piece of heaven on earth. Our host Julie quickly responded anytime we had a question. The chalet is well stocked and the extra attention to little details to make your stay special is appreciated. Having a beautiful view of the mountains whether inside or outside was amazing. Also, let's just say you will be talking about the fabulous showers long after you get home 😊 Don't hesitate to book this cabin. It is a golden find for a peaceful rest in the mountains.

My friends and I enjoyed our weekend getaway at The Runaway Chalet. The driveway was a little tricky due to recent snowfall, but April suggested an alternative approach to enter driveway. We plan to return next year!

My husband and I stayed here with our dog for Labor Day weekend! The house and the location can’t be beat for a relaxing but fun vacation. Everything was as described at the house and the added bonus of the lake club and marina topped it off. We plan on making this an annual trip!

I love staying here~ is my 2nd time. Carolyn has thought of everything one might need~ from amenities to local advice. The surroundings, views, deck, fire pit, deck tables and chairs ~ it's truly a retreat. Being on Lake Junaluska there are walks, even a little Crepe cafe at base of the hill that's delicious. Highly recommend!

Our fellowship has a wonderful time at Bear Lodge! Gorgeous views! Our host communicated well in a timely fashion. Beautiful clean home with plenty of room and an amazing kitchen that was truly well stocked. We wanted for nothing! We highly recommend Bear Lodge.

This has been yet another amazing stay!! We have reserved this Air B&B for 3 years now and each time Nina has provided an incredible and hassle free experience. Full of amenities, a complete kitchen arrangement, a quiet driveway and amazing views, this Air B&B has countless things to compliment and I’m happy to say we will continue using it as long as we can <3 It has gone from a vacation home to an ACTUAL home, just far away from our regular one.

We had a wonderful few days at this mountain cottage. The house is even better than the pictures suggest. It was extremely comfortable and well decorated. Travis was very responsive when I contacted him with questions . All in all an excellent house to rent. Thank you Travis
