Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Broken Hill

Our kids loved having baby farm animals right outside our door and being able to help with feeding them. Petah and her farm team were happy to chat and answer questions. Highly recommend the sunset camel ride and great to not have to drive at night after it because we were in the cottage.

Such a relaxing space to rest after a few big days of driving. Very tidy and comfortable. We arrived earlier in Broken Hill than the normal check in time, Megan was very responsive and we were able to escape the heat and check in earlier which was great! Has everything you need. Nice outside area for pets to run around and chill on the grass area also. Would stay again!

I stayed for over a week in Gigi’s little flat, and had a lovely time. The space is homely, and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. I appreciated that I had a space to be able to cook and prepare meals, particularly for a longer stay. Although there could be better ventilation, such as some exhaust fans in the kitchen and bathroom. It was stinking hot in Broken Hill during my stay, but I was comfortable in this flat, as the aircon works very well and kept the space cool. It was an absolute necessity during the extreme summer heat to have that respite. Gigi is very friendly and hospitable, while also respectful of privacy. She knows Broken Hill well, and is a great wealth of knowledge about the history of the area. She does a wonderful walking historic tour of the town centre, and has a friend at the Pro Hart gallery who also gave me a little tour of the museum, which was nice. Gives a great perspective of what life was like in Broken Hill way back when. The character of the place has stayed through all its years as an outback mining town. I suggest making the most of all the amazing sunsets while in the area. There’s so much beauty to be seen and experienced. Go out to Mundi Mundi Plains, the sunset is to die for! And then drop into the friendly folk at the iconic Silverton Hotel on your way back. But if you feel like staying in, the court yard is lovely, and is a nice spot to chill in the evening and listen to the bustling night life. Friday and Saturday nights are a blast! They sure have fun in this town.

Dianne is a responsive host and welcoming. The house is exactly as described, clean comfortable and on the immediate foreshore of Menindee Lake. The sunsets are worth every kilometre travelled from Sydney and the surrounding region has a lot to offer. It was difficult to believe we were deep in the outback looking at the lake each day. We were blessed with clear skies and we have never seen so many stars. A magical find and would love to return again one day.

This stay was a very pleasant surprise. A bit like staying at grandma's place - very welcoming and very homey. We used it as the base for our poking around Broken Hill and for that it was ideal. We especially liked the connection with the builder - having an understanding of who "Grumpy" is made for a personal connection which was quite tangible even though we could never meet him. We especially appreciated our host's quick response to our very last minute booking. We have 'marked' this one to come back to.

Absolutely loved Elliots' place! On main street, super close to everything. Bed was super comfy and felt right at home.

My family and I stayed at Sherie’s place over Christmas with our two doggos, we absolutely LOVED it! Sherie’s place was impeccably clean, modern and had all the amenities we needed for our stay in Broken Hill. We hope to stay here again one day, thanks Sherie! 😊
