House vacation rentals in British Isles

This was the second time we have stayed as a family at Graham's house when visiting Suffolk, and it was just as comfortable and welcoming as the first time. Graham was a great host who was able to accommodate our requested dates and offered a flexible check-in. The house is really well equipped and clean and in a lovely location with a lot of character. The beds are very comfy too, and we really valued the treats on arrival to toast the New Year - thank you so much - would highly recommend staying here!

We were a group of 15 friends and family - adults, teenagers and children - celebrating new year together. The property suited us perfectly and had everything we needed for a great few days. The location is excellent for the Jurassic coast beaches and Lyme Regis.

Excellent property. Owners were really nice. Can’t wait to go again when the pool is open. Went to a local pub called Coach & horses, excellent food there. We took our dog and owners kindly asked if we kept her on the lead when in garden of property as they have sheep but there’s a massive field with a woodland walk out back so was fine to let off the lead then. Barn is exactly as described. There’s some good little board games there and our kids got a bit obsessed with cluedo. Was expecting to be chilly as it’s a barn but the underfloor heating makes it really warm and cosy. Will definitely come back.

We spent 3 nights at this house with extended family members. We ranged in age from 4 -54 and we all had a great time. The house was immaculate and we had no faults. Plenty of space if you needed 5 minutes alone it was amazing. We will definitely be back. Kris was very friendly and explained everything, thanks kris

A great relaxing place to stay with friends and explore. The pool-spa was really good.

My family and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at The Oaks and we all wished we could have stayed longer. The house is well equipped, clean and tidy. There was plenty of room for 7 adults and 1 infant. The bedrooms were comfortable with fresh linen. I particularly booked this accommodation for the outside pool and this didn't disappoint. A perfect size pool for us and we enjoyed sitting around the garden and pool area. Beautiful Sobo beach is walking distance from the house and there are many good places to eat and drink nearby. We enjoyed a birthday celebration lunch at The Captains club restaurant which we would highly recommend, great food and attentive staff. A big thank you to Maggie And Peter for a great airbnb property.

We have stayed at numerous Airbnb’s, finally we have found one that matches the description. In fact the lodge exceeds the description. Jo was friendly and approachable. Kept in touch prior to the stay and available throughout. The lodge is set in the grounds of the family home. The grounds are lovely and add to the experience. The lodge itself is laid out perfectly from the open plan living/kitchen area to the spacious bedrooms, large bathroom and an upstairs snug which overlooks the garden and park. Super clean! Not a water mark or dust anywhere. The bedding smells fresh and is ironed. Tasteful furniture and decor. TV’s in each room. Overall we felt the lodge had a lovely homely feeling. It was a perfect stay. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Jo & Jules.

On arrival the house was homely and perfect for a family gathering. The open fire and massive dining table were a real bonus! Very well equipped with some lovely personal touches. It was too cold to make the most of the outdoor space but we will be back in the summer for sure.

Margaret was a great host and helped with any issues we had during our stay. A great house to stay in and would thoroughly recommend to anyone else.

We had a great time staying at The Old Bakery with our young children and friends with their young children. The house is comfy and well equipped, and has a load of interesting historical features and character. The large open plan living and dining space, collection of board games and books, and the wood burning stove were real highlights. The cottage also has a lovely peaceful garden which would have been great in warmer weather. The location is great if you have a car, within an easy drive of most of the North Norfolk coast. We also found it an added bonus that there is a children's play area and playing field right opposite the cottage. Frances was a very helpful host, and the homemade cake and local apple juice waiting for us on arrival was a lovely touch.

Incredibly beautiful, matched the descriptions and photographs. Tracey gave great directions and loads of tips of things to do. It was so peaceful, only the sound of the waves and the odd sheep. Wholeheartedly recommend it!

The house was very very nice and pretty large which we needed and in a superb location. Very nice quiet street but also very close to Church Street and all its amen. The kids playroom basement was a real bonus for our kids. Kaz was very friendly and really helped us out by letting us drop our 4 suitcases when we arrived in Stoke Newington otherwise we would have had an awkward few hours! She also let us move into the house early which was also very appreciated. Overall it was probably our best Airbnb experience to date.

Great cozy place with an amazing view. We felt ‘at home’ from the moment we entered the house. Highly recommended!

Our third stay here. Spotless accommodation and great communication from Jamie. Great location also with just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Poulton. Would happily stay again.

I stayed at Sonia’s house with a group of friends. We were 6 adults and 5 children aged 3 to 7. The house was perfect and I actually think the photos don’t quite do it justice. There is plenty of space for the children and adults to do their own thing but also come together. Reception spaces were so cosy with lots of space and made a great cinema room or snug, depending what mood you’re in. Bedrooms were all a great size and and beds were so comfortable! Sonia is a great host. Very responsive, kind and helpful. We have already said, we will be back as it’s such a great house for a gathering with friends.

Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable, nice and warm, and exactly as listed. A quiet location and dog friendly. Thoughtful host who left a little welcome basket of bits and had good communication. We intend to rebook next time we’re back in Brighton.

we had a great stay in Lisa's place it was perfect for our few days in Brugge between Christmas and New Year. Super close to the city center which is a must for those going to see the sights but more importantly when we were at the place it was perfect for our family of 5. plenty of space, comfortable beds and the table football kept us busy for hours!! Lisa was great host, really proactive and great communication. would highly recommend!!!

Booked a family stay to celebrate a special birthday. The house was truly spectacular and we felt instantly at home. Danni is super responsive and recommended the local pub for a meal which was fabulous. The accommodation lends itself to different ages and mixed groups - nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely perfect stay in a beautiful area. The house was spotless and even bigger than the photos show! It was perfect for 4 adults and my 16 month old daughter. Stuart sent great instructions through and loads of information about the local area, although we actually loved the house and grounds so much that we didn’t venture any further - we had a lovely few relaxing days in the house and walks around the woodland. My daughter even got to feed the goats. Will definitely come back, and will do a summer visit too as the pool looked beautiful.

a stay in this place was amazing, nothing was to much for the very accommodating James from the travel cot, highchair and stair gates. very child friendly. the home was so clean and tidy with wonderful decor in the front bedroom we all had an amazing sleep. There was a complimentary bottle of procesco in the fridge. well equipped kitchen which I really enjoyed cooking inn. travel station is 5 mins away beaches not far at all. small village with everything you need close to hand from Sainsbury's co op and fresh fruit and veg shop with loads of local produce.. 10 outta 10 James
