Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Bahía Drake

The space is in a fantastic location. From the veranda of the room you can watch many birds and swim small crocodiles in the small river. We were also able to observe a larger group of monkeys. The room is very clean and lovingly decorated. Breakfast is offered at the property. We had breakfast there every morning because it was just super delicious. Breakfast is also offered from 5 o'clock, so you can have breakfast before a booked day trip to Corcovado National Park. Teresa helped us in advance with the booking of the excursions and the handling of the payment with the organizer. She was also always easily accessible on site and helped us organize a short-term further excursion. She also contacted a doctor for us and made sure to visit her directly on a Sunday after an insect bite had ignited. We loved it here.

If you are interested in ethically responsible tourism, where your money can make a difference in a community that is transitioning away from resource extraction, support Acodobrarti and the community work they are doing! Acodobrarti is an association of local guides and B&B operators. Requests for lodging come into the main Acodobrarti number, manned by Emer or Esther, who then communicate with the various B&B hosts. Cielo Verde is owned by Ligia, a lovely, charming lady who makes this an amazing stay! She cooks a great breakfast at whatever time you like, and will also cook other wonderful meals for you if requested. You stay in the rooms behind her house, and eat meals in the house. The rooms are very clean, and the beds are comfortable. I would say the main attraction is your host; Ligia is a fantastic hostess who is friendly and sweet and loves to chat in Spanish or practice her English. She really does go above and beyond for her guests, arranging tours, laundry service, afternoon coffee-whatever she can do to make your stay pleasant. This is a community driven rural tourism project, without the large investment funds that foreigners have. Which means each time a guests stays , Ligia is able to invest to improve the property. Please note that she is just starting out, so the space is lacking in some amenities, like pictures on the wall, a nightstand or shelves to put your things. There are some chairs to hang outside, but not much in the way of an outdoor patio or garden. But thats ok because there is a trail right next to her house you can take into private conservation concession bordering Corcovado with or without a guide-Acodobrarti offers great tours as well. There is VERY limited wifi in the town of Dos Brazos, so please don't expect to be connected unless you go down to the community centre and use someone's wifi from their phone. Fine for sending messages but not for extended time online. Make sure to hang out at the community centre on Sunday nights for movie night and a pickup soccer or volleyball game. They also do a pretty good pizza and great smoothies.

I’d been dreaming of staying at this Airbnb for over a year before we finally made it, so we had high expectations. And still- Finca Manglar surpassed them. I have no idea how they keep the house so clean when it has no walls. The kitchen was very well stocked. The rooms were very comfortable. There were a lot of fans around to help with the heat of the day, and the pool in the house was so fun and a quick way to cool down. We rode the horses, went to the private beach, went tubing, and did the mangrove tour. All were fantastic. Luis was phenomenal to us. We also had dinner every night- the food was delicious and the portions were healthy enough that we had leftovers. Ruth and Raquel were fantastic too. We absolutely loved this incredibly unique experience, and we’ll never forget staying here.

Great host, very clean and quiet place! The host was very helpful and very attentive. He answered all my questions and help me with everything! It’s a perfect place to stay if you have in mind going to Corcovado. He will help you with that too.

Very nice place, the room was very clean, the bed comfortable, the shared kitchen was well provided and really clean. The common room is full of charm and there is reading on Costa Rica. The big plus was the visit to Corcovado Park, we really had a great day seeing a lot of animals! Thank you to Vincent our guide:) Small downside: the Wi-Fi connection that sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. Apparently it's everywhere like this in Drake Baie

We stayed for a week at Happy Feet and we really enjoyed our stay. A lovely guest house with space to cook and sit about in. Javier always responded promptly with any queries. We went on the overnight Corcovado tour which we would highly recommend, we also had Javier as our guide who we would rate very highly. He had such enthusiasm and passion, Javier could identify animals by sound and smell. We so many different birds and animals, thank you so much for an amazing experience.

The accommodation is well placed in Bahía Drake, close to the center. In addition to Javier who is also a guide offers tours of Corcovado Park or night tours, which is frankly friendly.

Adriana is a wonderful host, from the omen of booking she immediately reached out to us and made us welcome, she is very friendly and generous. the place is a great location for nature lovers, as you're right on the river, plenty of birds, lizards and we even saw a turtle, you can just chill on the balcony and watch the world go by.

This is my second time and my partner's third time staying at Kirani's place. We absolutely love it there! Both Kirani and Fernando are amazing people! The place is basic but has everything that's needed. The view is breath taking and you feel like you become part of nature! There is no air-conditioning, so if you suffer from the heat this isn't the best place for you. But there sre fans and a very nice hammock where you can enjoy the breeze. It's also pretty far from downtown so better if you have a car, but you can take a taxi to town whenever you need to for $20US. All in all a pretty magical place!

Coming to this place is an adventure itself, but the View,the peace and the environment are worth the effort! Kirani supported us in all regards, she and Fernando are amazing

Drake Bay is magical! Kirani is the most communicative host I've ever met. She went out of her way to arrange and book everything for us and answered any messages within minutes. Fernando is very accommodating. You can tell how much they both love the place. The place is very basic and rustic. The location can be an advantage or a disadvantage. It is out of town, so if you don't have a car, you need to take a taxi every time you need groceries or anything else (can become expensive). On the other hand it was very nice to be away from the town center and very connected with nature (althought the road can be noisy at times). We ended up eating dinner at the restaurant that is five minute down the hill, which is run by wonderful people. Great food and reasonable prices. There is also a gorgeuose and very secluded beach 10 minutes walk from there. The kitchen and rooms have some issues (as mentioned before) but I know that Kirani and Fernando are constantly working to improve the place.
