We will sail by the Fortress of São João, Fortress Laje and Fortress Santa Cruz, and close to the Island of Boa Viagem in Niterói. There will be one stop point at Adão e Eva beach or Praia Vermelha, perfect for picture taking and if you are interested to swim! Then we will pass by the Museum of Contemporary Art and sail back with the amazing view of the sunset on the horizon. We will start the trail at the gate of sector C of Tijuca National Park, the largest urban forest in the world. Our circuit passes through the main viewpoints of Pedra da Gávea, the main historical sites and the famous gorge of Heaven. Beyond all the beauty of rainforest fauna and flora. The trail time is approximately 6 hours and a total of 3 km, we make stops at strategic points for hydration and recharge. We will take a secret route and hike to the Christ monument avoiding the crowd of tourists - this is not the Parque Lage trail and even few residents know about it. It is ideal for anyone who enjoys walking (family, friends or solo travellers) and a pleasant and sustainable manner to reach the top of the most famous mountain in the country, passing by water sources and beautiful scenarios to appreciate the forest environment and city view. We will hike on official national park trails. I will share my knowledge about the indigenous culture before the arrival of the Portuguese, the city foundation and the national park's history. I will take you to spots you would not find on your own. We may encounter wildlife on our way and we will enjoy a peaceful environment for hours. - 8:00 we meet and walk towards the trailhead - 8:20 we start our hike to Corcovado (approx. 5 km) on marked trails in the Atlantic tropical forest. Level: easy to moderate, no climbing involved but some "energy" is needed to conquer the mountain peak (705m). Along the way we will pass by a waterfall, water courses and two viewpoints with stunning view to the city. - Around 11:30 we arrive at the Christ. I will take you to the ticket stand (bring cash with you, cards are not accepted to purchase the entrance ticket) and will show you where to buy the van or train ticket for your descent and return.
