Emeralds are part of the selected group of precious stones and the 60% of them in the world are originally from Colombia. Become part of the Emerald legend, by creating a ring with your own hands. This tour starts by having an introduction about the importance of emeralds for precolonial and colonial culture. We will go through the emerald and jewelry district to learn about the history of the precious metals and stones and its influence in Colombian culture. We will take a look at the emerald market to see the different minerals and qualities. Then we will work on your new ring, where you will decide all! the design, the stone and material, by the personal advisory of a orfebre (jewelry master) who teaches you how to do every single step.

You will have a chocolate class and you will be able to taste the different products of chocolate production: cacao fruit, roasted and unroasted seed, cacao nibs, cocoa powder and ancestral cacao beverage. Then... hands into chocolate... you wil learn the way we make our modern chocolates. We will start with pure cacao to obtain cacao paste of concentrations from 70%, 75%, 85% and 100%. With this you will make different kinds of chocolates combining with fresh local ingredients and our own chocolate fillings and then just create your own chocolates. My friend Cesar will drive you in his private vehicle, from the meeting point in the downtown area (CP 6800), to the village of Arrazola. It will take around 30 minutes to get to Armando's gallery where we will have the experience. In Arrazola, you will meet me, my wife Antonia and our son Alejandro at our workshop to show you the entire creation process of our amazing art: from carving the wood; making natural colors out of local fruits, insects and minerals to painting the figures in the traditional design with acrylic paint. Cesar will translate into English if needed. Now the fun part starts. Time to get creative. You will choose a small plain wooden animal figure to paint yourself which could take up to two hours. Very early in the morning, our transport will perform the pick-up to start this wonderful tour heading towards the villages of Mollepata and Soraypampa. You will travel for 2 hours to the town of Mollepata, where you will have a delicious breakfast for about 40 minutes. After breakfast you will continue on your way to Soraypampa for about 1 hour, there you will get out of the vehicle and our guide will give all the necessary directions for the hike, you will have 10 minutes to prepare and start the walk. The hike to the Humantay Lagoon will take approximately 1 hour and a half to observe the beautiful landscape until you reach the beautiful turquoise lagoon. You will have enough time to enjoy the magic of the place, rest, and bring an offer to the Apus. At the end of the visit, you will return to our vehicle which will take you to Mollepata where you will have a delicious buffet lunch. After lunch, you will travel for approximately 2 hours to Cusco where our transport will take you downtown. From Curubande we will take a 4WD for 1 km that will take us to the entrance of the waterfall trail and here is where the hike begins. The waterfall is well hidden away on the outskirts of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano . The trail is 1.3 Miles (2 Kilometers) singletrack so together it is 4 km. There are some climbing to do in elevation and some caves to go across. Later to reach the waterfall we have to swim 25 meters through a beautiful turquoise river canyon. This is a local experience that takes place where the Blanco and the Colorado rivers cross through, forming canyons and beautiful scenery which is why the water in their pools have that special turquoise tint.
