Get away from it all at Hazelnut Yurt, located in beautiful rural Galloway, just 10 minutes from Loch Ken. The yurt sleeps 2 adults and one under 2 and is set in a really special wee spot on our ten acre smallholding – completely secluded, it’s nestled amongst the hazelnut trees, by a stream, with just the birds for neighbours. Outside, you can enjoy a fire by the water or a sundowner on the outdoor seating. A picture window and woodburner mean you can enjoy the setting, no matter the weather.

Secluded Ptarmigan Yurt

Now in its 5th season the Yurt is very popular. This year we have upgraded the flooring from carpet to wood with lovely rugs. We have also changed the curtains and bedding and added a few extras for our guests comfort. The Yurt has a kingsize bed, a kitchenette and a seating area. March, April May and September October we lay the fire ready for our guests to light on arrival as this is the only form of heating The Yurt has an ensuite bathroom with shower, hot water and electricity.

Dumfries and Galloway dark skies park is a stunning location to get away from it all on our eco friendly off grid small holding. The yurt is solar powered with 12vt lights and has a wood burning stove, shower room and composting toilet. The yurt has a double bed and three singles (all with down duvets) so sleeps 4 x1 or 1x2 and 3x1 we don't charge a cleaning fee, so what you see is what you pay!! Set in our small mixed woodland at West Cottage and Stables in in picturesque Glenlyon, our 20ft yurt offers complete privacy, a choice of two fire pits (one under cover) and amazing views, a wood burning range cooker, and a double bed – to mention just the essentials. The yurt is lined with wool, and there's a pull out twin bed and a kettle and toaster. There's cold water in the yurt and a full bathroom a short walk up to our house. There's also your own loo right by the yurt.
