The Markthaus is a historic gem and is listed as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the mirror image of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic painter's path. Vaulted cellars and foundation walls date to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a relaxation, post office and tavern. In 1850 a massive cultivation in the Classicist style took place. Our home is a 270-year-old surrounding house that we have renovated and converted in loving work. As far as possible, we have preserved or restored the old wooden planks or timber trusses. Our garden is set up in such a way that creatures that are native to it can still feel comfortable like, salamanders, hedgehogs, fireflies, kingfishers and wild bees. Those who stay in the garden for a longer time can observe these many rare inhabitants in our garden.

Small, cozy apartment with large, usable garden located on the south side of the fortress Königstein. Well suited for families with 2 small children, but of course all others are welcome too! In the house there is a fireplace for the cool days and in the garden you can barbecue or just enjoy the great starry sky at night. There are plenty of climbing and hiking opportunities in the area. It should be noted that there is no Wi-Fi in the cottage.
