Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

It is 8 miles from the town of L’Anse, and a 40 minute drive to Houghton. Cross country ski trails, snowmobile trails, hiking trails, and ORV trails are minutes away. Welcome to a century old mining house! A Very comfortable home with a large double lot. Located in the middle of paradise with Lake Superior not far from us in any direction. Less than a 1/2 mile from the main snowmobile/Atv trail, close to Mont Ripley, Swedetown, Mont Bohemia. We are centrally located between Houghton (20 miles away), Copper Harbor (25 miles away) and Calumet (5 miles). A great value.
