Perched on the cliffs just 70 minutes from SJO airport and 20 minutes to Jacó, modern Mediterranean Villa del Acantilados offers private-pool ocean views, security, privacy, and every luxury detail. Perfect for family vacations, romantic getaways, or small group retreats

Offering total privacy, solitude and serenity, no other homes in sight, yet within a gated community, only 3 minutes from the beach, 15 minutes from the nearest Starbucks and 20 minutes from the vibrant urban center of Jacó.

The space
Welcome to your home away from home! The moment you gaze over the private pool, towards the house and ocean view, you will know....you have arrived! This spacious, tastefully decorated, and fully equipped villa offers three beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, hot water throughout, ceiling fan and A/C unit providing ultimate comfort and privacy for every guest.

We’re intentionally located outside Jacó’s busier core so you get easy access to everything the area offers — without the late-night energy or constant foot traffic. Families love the quiet evenings on the terrace and the short, scenic drive to Carara National Park, Tárcoles crocodiles, or Herradura’s calmer beaches - while still being able to enjoy everything Jacó has to offer close at hand.

The master suite features a king-sized bed, HD TV system, a private balcony with stunning ocean and jungle views, and a spa-like bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower.

The second bedroom features a double-sized bed, private bathroom with a walk in shower, HD TV system, ceiling fan and A/C unit. This bedroom offers some of the most spectacular ocean views on the property.

The third bedroom features a double-sized bed, private bathroom with a walk in shower, ceiling fan and A/C unit. This bedroom provides beautiful jungle views.

The loft rounds out the 2nd level, providing a dedicated work zone and auxiliary convertible sleeping accommodations ideal for children or lighter sleepers who will no doubt enjoy the mind-blowing views of the ocean and jungle via the panoramic window that frames the floating concrete staircase.

On the main level the spacious living area is perfect for family gatherings, featuring a fully equipped chef's kitchen which provides modern appliances including an automatic dishwasher as well as an espresso machine, juicer and an island as well as direct access to the outdoor kitchen and barbecue area.

A large dining room provides seating for up to eight people, more spectacular views via the floor to ceiling windows that define the space. A separate terrace off of the dining room also provides a perfect location to enjoy that morning coffee or evening glass of vino as you watch the sunset over the ocean.

A comfortable living room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the pool, terrace and jungle valley provides plenty of comfortable seating, and a large HD TV.

The covered breezeway in between the living room and dining room provides a wonderful outdoor space where you can enjoy al fresco meals at any time - even during our green season.

Step outside onto the expansive terrace, where you can relax in the lounge chairs or hammock, practice yoga on the deck or take a dip in the pool while soaking in those breathtaking views.

There is a separate laundry room on the property that can be made available to you upon request.

You can expect to be visited by Jack and Diane (our pair of Scarlet Macaws) or Benito (our prima donna iguana), toucans, coatis or monkeys - all as you lounge by the pool or grill some fresh seafood on the barbecue.

Villa Del Acantilados is the perfect blend of serene privacy and absolute convenience - a perfect retreat that is ideal for family time and friendly get-togethers. Please note that we are located in a residential community where many of the residents live year round. As such loud music, parties, or any gatherings exceeding the permitted number of guests are not allowed, out of respect for our neighbours and the community.

Costa Rica, and especially this part of the central pacific, has so many amazing things to experience that are so close by - whether it's amazing beaches (so many to choose from!), Bijagual waterfall (almost next door), Carara National Park (also next door) or Carara adventure park (next door the other way). Imagine returning from a full day of snorkelling Tortuga island to be greeted by your private chef, your favourite cocktail and the delicious aromas of your forthcoming meal poolside.

Your concierge can arrange all of this and more. Whether your idea of a perfect vacation includes scuba diving, zip lining, hiking to hidden waterfalls or secluded beaches and being pampered by private chefs and masseuses, it would be our pleasure to help with any arrangements, reservations, or bookings, please feel free to ask us!

Guest access
The home is easily accessible year-round via paved roads all the way to the villa, with the final hillside approach being steep (common for ocean-view homes in Costa Rica).

A 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended for comfort and confidence — most guests choose one and find the drive straightforward after the first ascent.

The entire house and its grounds, with the exception of the mechanical room and maintenance storage area, are at your disposal.

Please enjoy!

Other things to note
*Wildlife at Villa Del Acantilados*

Welcome to the jungle! And when you’re in the jungle it’s important to remember that the local denizens are sharing their home with you just as much as we are. Here are a few of our wildlife friends that you may come across

Jack and Diane. Jack and Diane are a pair of Scarlet Macaws. You will hear them before you see them and while they move pretty quickly you are quite likely to see them flying in tandem along the valley. Other Scarlet Macaws come and go….but Jack and Diane seem very local.

Benito. Benito is an iguana and he’s a good couple of feet long. There are plenty of iguanas around the property…..but Benny - he’s our guy (or girl..we’re not really sure). He (or she) likes to sun himself on the deck or on the soil erosion rocks below the deck. He’s pretty brave so you may see him peering in at you from the front door.

Carlos the Coati. Long snout and longer tail. You can’t miss him as he makes his semi regular walk past the staircase window, dining room and along the erosion stones. He loves to be photographed!

Batty McBatface (and friends). Batty is the little guy who naps by the front door all day. His friends are all over the place. When dusk comes and they all wake up…..it can be quite something to see. I promise you that Batty and his friends are insect eaters and they have no interest in you - and you can thank them for the largely insect-free poolside experience that you will enjoy. If you really want to discourage Batty from hanging out at the front door, then leave the front light on - especially in the early dawn when he comes back from his nighttime hunt.

Toucan Sam. The Toucans are a little harder to spot than the Macaws simply by virtue of the fact that they make a lot less noise, but we often spot them in the trees across from the pool

Gordon Gecko and clan. Honestly…..I don’t know which one is Gordon. They’re all Gordon to me. You will often see a Gordon casually hanging out on a wall outside (or an inside wall). Don’t let him sell you on any insurance!

Hey Hey We’re the Monkeys. There are a number of species of monkeys that live in the area including the White Face Capuchin Monkey. I’v never seen them come too close to the house though….so you may have a little better luck seeing one up close at Carara National Park (right next door) and guaranteed you will spot one (or many) at Manuel Antonio if you make the trek.

The general creepy crawlies. Did I mention that you’re in the jungle? You are going to see some interesting bugs and while we spray the perimeter of the Villa regularly…..don’t be surprised if a couple find their way inside.

Crocodiles. Not on the property! While Tarcoles is famous for Los Cocodrillos….the Croc Skywalk and/or bridge is the easiest location to see them and a guided tour is the BEST way to see them.

Costa Rica takes wild life preservation EXTREMELY seriously. So….a few things to note:

Of course nothing can be done that would harm any of the animals

Feeding the animals is also expressly forbidden as it causes them to become dependent on human beings and a little TOO familiar.

In fact handling the animals at all is also a no-no.

So enjoy the nature and the wildlife.....from a distance.
