Ten minutes from Avandaro, book two private forest homes 50m apart for one group. Together they sleep 16 across seven bedrooms, with three queen beds, three double beds, a sofa bed and an extra double bed placed on request. Enjoy 3 hectares of gardens with two ponds, chickens, bunnies, forest paths, two fireplaces, outdoor dining, a safe fire pit and the covered 20 × 11 m sport court. Ideal for extended families, friends and pets; guided hikes in the family’s 130-hectare forest can be arranged.

The space
Your group receives both guest homes, about 50 m apart. Casa Las Orquideas has three main-floor bedrooms with queen beds, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, high ceilings, two fireplaces, a washer and custom woodwork by renowned artist and sculptor Victor Klassen. For full occupancy, a double bed can be moved into its largest bedroom with advance notice. The two-story forest home has four private bedrooms: three with double beds and a private TV room with a double sofa bed, plus two bathrooms, an open kitchen, dining and living areas. Together the homes sleep up to 16 across seven bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Guest access
Guests have both homes, their decks and outdoor dining areas, and about 3 hectares of pond, koi pond, vegetable and manicured gardens. The covered 20 × 11 m sport court is available for basketball and soccer; with advance notice, tables can be moved so it works as a sheltered lounge and dining area for a large group. The safe fire pit is also available to the group. Other family homes remain on the wider property. Guided routes through the family’s 130 hectares of private forest can be arranged; please do not enter unmarked forest areas without guidance.

Other things to note
Five friendly dogs live at other houses on the property, not inside either guest home. More than 80 stays—most involving guest dogs—have had no issues. Pets are welcome, but guests must supervise them around the resident dogs, both ponds, chickens, bunnies and forest. The homes are about 50 m apart along outdoor paths, so the group should be comfortable moving between them on natural, sometimes uneven terrain. Arriving before dark is recommended; follow the route and landmark instructions provided before check-in. Fireplace lighting is available on request and is usually only needed in December and January.
