Park for free

This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.

Located on the Cabot Trail, with beautiful views of the majestic ocean and rolling mountains.

Includes kitchen amenities, comfy bed, pellet stove. Compost toilet and spring mountain fed water is provided for drinking, wash up and rinsing (no running water).

Full access to the back lake and trails through our forest. Free access to swim, canoe and/or kayak.

We are a 2-10 minute drive to ocean, beaches and trails, shops, cafes, pubs, live music, and The Cape Breton National Park.

The space
Feel free to take a walk to the back lake and explore the sacredness of the land. You will find the pathway at the back left hand corner of our lot. Follow the trail down to the left, up the hill and down into the forest and down to the lake. Crocs and/or water shoes are preferred for swimming.

Feel free to inquiry about our kayak and canoe rentals.

Please be mindful of animals on the trails at dawn and dusk.

There is a fire pit down there and beside the Bunkie. If you wish to have a fire, feel free to use ONLY dead wood from the forests to feed your fire and make sure the fire is not left unattended when you leave.

Feel free to use any wood from the left hand side of The Bunkie for an outdoor fire.

Before lighting any fire outdoors, check with the local Municipal Office with regard to fire regulations and restrictions. Please use the allocated area only for outdoor fires.

Guest access
When you drive up the driveway, feel free to park on the grass just as the driveway curves to the right. You will be looking at the mountains and the swing set from this space. Be mindful of children playing when coming and going as our girls do like to explore the property.

When you arrive The Bunkie will be unlocked. You can find your key in the bowl on the lobster trap table. Please leave the key here when you leave. We haven’t locked these doors since we bought the place but feel free to use it as you wish while you are here.
