I provide more than a "place." I am highly respectful of your needs. On one hand, I offer a "concierge-like" experience, reflective of my 30+ years of island living, offering recommendations of what to see, do, and discounts to some island amenities. Or, I leave you totally alone if privacy is what you seek most. It's about choice.
Started in 2008 with "MiKo's Guest House"--the cabin on my property--I began offering "Open, Artsy Retreat House & Hot Tub" so guests have more living space, a dishwasher, washer/dryer, a bathtub, a dedicated office, a small fenced-in area for their well-behaved small-medium size dog (with additional deposit), and a large front porch. And yes, the jacuzzi hot tub is still the star attraction!

This is an adult-only home. Ideal for 1 person or max 2 persons (due to grandfathered small septic system).

This 883 sqft house (feels bigger due to the high ceilings, skylights, and open floor plan), is one of two small houses on a 1/3 of an acre, bordering horse pasture. NOTE: there is a quiet tenant (German intern working at an island non-profit) in the small cabin who keeps to himself (no overnight visitors or parties) or he's out on bike rides exploring the area. Privacy is assured with the separated bamboo fencing. He doesn't have a car--only an electric bike--so you'll have plenty of driveway parking all to yourself.
Unique, colorful, open concept layout with 1 dedicated bedroom and 1 office, 1 full bathroom (bathtub, shower), plenty of towels, washer and dryer and dishwasher.
The bedroom has a large California King size bed ("a Queen plus size") with 2 bed-side tables, one shelving unit and hooks for your clothes. (I do store my clothes in the 3 closets in the house.)
The office has an ergonomic set up with desk, monitor to plug in your laptop, adjustable chair, along with basic office supplies, and a lovely background for your Zoom calls! Help yourself to my lending library filled with leadership and coaching books, as that is my "day job."
Olympic Prodigy Hot Tub Jacuzzi on deck, with front and back lawns, and perennial beds of herbs and flowers surrounding the property.
So, come soak in our high-end jacuzzi hot tub under the stars. Cook up a storm in the cozy, yet fully equipped kitchen. Or dine at one of the multitude of unique food offerings across the island. Relax in the large, open living room under 3 sky lights that lets the light in! (There's even a skylight in the bathroom!) Explore our town's unique and small shops. Attend a concert, art opening, live theatre at Open Space for Arts & Community or at watch an indie film at our historic cinema at Vashon Theatre or the latest offering from Vashon Film Institute (VFI)
Come to Vashon Island, and allow the tranquility of this rural island paradise, along with my comfy home, restore your nervous system for a weekend, week, or month away from the stress, noise, and bustle of city life. Walk the beaches, trails.

Guest access
You have full unlimited access to the front yard, front porch, back patio, fenced area, front parking area, hot tub & deck.
A quiet solo tenant resides in the DADU (cabin) behind a privacy fence and works during the day.
Other things to note
Bathrobes and large towels are provided for your short walk to the hot tub. Suggest bringing your own flipflops or outdoor slippers.
A wide selection of teas along with different sized French Presses and a coffee grinder are available, together with several kitchen gadgets. Please bring your favourite beans to grind!
There are a variety of interesting books to peruse, puzzles to solve, a Samsung monitor to plug into your laptop, but no large Smart TV.
PLEASE NOTE *do not* move large pieces of furniture from their location (L-shape sofa; wooden armoire; King-size bed; heavy mirrors; large colourful pot with blankets.)
The living room glass-top coffee table can slide gently away from the sofa as it has plastic-like coasters on its feet.
A small backyard fence is ready for your well-behaved small-medium size dog with an additional pet deposit.
NOTE: Sorry, no cats (though you may see one of the neighbours wandering over!) Our guests like sitting on the large front porch with their morning cuppa, listening to the songs from the many birds who forage round my property, designated a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
