Additional Notes

Mallard Lakehouse is a classic Muskoka cottage that embraces its vintage character. While many cottages today have been fully modernized, this property offers a more traditional cottage experience, complete with original features, warm wood interiors, and the nostalgic charm that makes spending time at the lake so special.

As the cottage is surrounded by nature, guests should expect to encounter insects, wildlife, and the occasional spider web—especially during the warmer months. This is part of the authentic cottage experience in Muskoka.

Please note that the second bathroom is currently undergoing renovations and is anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2026. Until then, guests will have access to one full bathroom.

The bedrooms are equipped with baseboard heaters for cooler evenings, while the main living areas are heated primarily by the central fireplace. A portable heater is also provided for guest use. During spring and fall, mornings can be cool, and guests may wish to enjoy a fire for additional warmth and ambiance.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the entire cottage, including the private dock, outdoor deck, and grounds. Enjoy lake access for swimming and relaxing, BBQ meals on the deck, and evenings by the firepit. The open lawn, hammock, and yoga mats offer space to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.

Other things to note
