Two simple, cosy and off-grid yurts overlooking the Coulonge River, one of the legendary "Chemin d'eau" used by river travellers for millennia.

Each yurt is equipped with a wood stove that will keep you toasty, whether it be cooler Fall nights or in the middle of deep winter.

Set on 12 acres of land, this property boasts easy access to walking and x-country ski trails, a sauna and river access.

The space
The yurts are outfitted in clean minimalist Scandanavian style: solid wood furnishings, felted wool walls, white IKEA ceramics.

Three large square windows offer forest views and bath the inside with sunlight. You feel as though you are in a spaceship looking out on the world.

There is a bunk bed and a couch that folds out into a bed. The kitchen comprises of a Coleman propane stove, most commonly used utensils and dishes, and two wash-basins. In winter stews and other food can be cooked or heated on the woodstove.

The yurts do not have electricity or running water. There is no fridge but solar light consoles can be arranged for a small additional price.

The space is comfortable for four people, but is limited. The yurt is 225sq ft, so bring essentials only.

Guest access
Once you pass the main gate, drive to the end of the private road and park. Take the stairs on the left and walk into the forest. About 20 metres in, the path forks: keep straight for Yurt 1, turn right for Yurt 2.

The sauna is closer to Yurt 2. There are two ways to get to the water. The longer but easier way down is behind Yurt 1. A second, steeper but shorter, trail begins in front of the sauna.
