Unwind in a private forest retreat with cedar sauna, wood stove, outdoor shower, and a spacious deck overlooking a pond—just minutes from Beddis Beach. This 600 sq. ft. cottage offers cozy comfort with a queen bed, queen pull-out sofa, Firestick TV, and breakfast essentials. Set on 5 acres and only 10 minutes' drive to Ganges Village, The Blue Ewe is ideal for couples or solo travelers seeking quiet, nature, and rejuvenation on Salt Spring Island.

The space
The Blue Ewe Island Cottage is a cozy and private 600 sq. ft. guest cabin set on acres near Beddis Beach, on the east side of Salt Spring Island.

Perfect for couples or solo travelers, the cottage features a cedar sauna, outdoor shower beneath the trees, and a spacious partially covered deck overlooking a tranquil pond and pasture. Inside, you’ll find a comfy queen bed, a pull-out sofa in the living room, and a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast essentials and pantry staples like coffee, cereal, olive oil, salt and pepper.

After a day of exploring the island, curl up by the wood-burning stove, browse our books and games, or unwind with a vinyl record on the player.

The cottage includes:

- Ensuite washer/dryer
- TV with Firestick
- WiFi
- Selection of books and games
- Wood-burning fireplace with firewood available for purchase
- Continental breakfast items and kitchen staples

Please note: the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom and has an open ceiling to the vaulted space above.

The space comfortably sleeps 2 adults, with room for up to 4 guests if there are children. Because of the layout we are really not suited to accommodate more than 2 adults, for your own comfort. Families are welcome, but please bring your own crib, high chair, or other baby items.

We have two friendly dogs and two cats on the property. Our dogs will bark to alert when visitors arrive, but they will not visit the cottage as they are contained by an electric fence.

We’re a 10-minute drive to Ganges and just 2 minutes to Beddis Beach. The main house is owner-occupied—we’re hands-off hosts but happy to help you with recommendations or anything else you need, just ask!

Other things to note
During winter months (December-February, but depends on the year), it is mandatory that you have AWD/4WD, with all-season or snow tires, as some parts of our driveway are steep and very slippery in icy weather! If there is snow, you will need chains. If you do not have the appropriate vehicle we ask that you come another time.

The sauna has a manual operation dial. You must turn the dial to "OFF" when you are finished with your sauna, and please turn the light switch off as well. We will charge a $50 electricity fee to guests who leave the sauna running when not in use or after check-out.
