The Cabin on the Coulee Grouse House is a special stay situated outside of a treed area near a prairie that overlooks 200 acre Alberta coulee, making for stunning views! It’s a cozy, off-grid, insulated mini-cabin. Powered by solar, this site features an indoor wood-burning stove, outdoor picnic bench, gas barbecue, outhouse with an outdoor shower, and outdoor firepit in a huge back yard. A double bed and pull-out futon make this an ideal stay for up to 4 guests.

The space
The Grouse House glampsite has a bunkie or mini-cabin on the edge of a treed area on a complete section of land near a 200 acre Alberta coulee, making for an amazing view! It rents as a complete unit that sleeps up to 4 with an outdoor bathroom and full kitchen.

The Grouse House is off-grid, with a solar power system, a propane gas BBQ and water heater, an indoor wood stove, outdoor outhouse and shower, outdoor fire pit, and high speed wifi.

We are 3 hours NE of Calgary, 1.5 hours E of Red Deer, and 2.5 hours SE of Edmonton.

Guest access
Guests have full use and access to the whole glampsite that is enclosed by a rail fence to keep the cattle out if they are grazing in the area. Guests also have access to the coulees and trails for hiking or mountain biking and the rest of the flat land on the section of land (640 acres) for hiking and biking.

Other things to note
Note: Every fall (edit: the water system has been drained as of November 15), the outdoor water system will have to be drained so that it does not freeze. This will usually be some time around the end of October or beginning of November, depending on the weather. At this point, you will have to rely on the large bottles of purified water inside the Grouse House and the large pot that we supply that can be put on the wood burning stove for warm water, for a winter camping situation.

Our main goal is to provide unforgettable glamping experiences for our guests. We wanted to create glampsites that offer peace and quiet, and an escape into nature suitable for families of all shapes and sizes.

These glampsites are perfect for stargazing, watching the sunrise/sunset, hiking, mountain biking, and watching the northern lights!

Glamping is a blend of the words glamorous and camping. Glamping is a style of camping where guests are treated to some unexpected amenities, like a comfortable bed, on or off grid electricity, running/heated water, indoor plumbing, or high speed internet.

We call our short term holiday accommodations glampsites and we aspire to be the home of the "Low Density Glamping Guarantee". This means that all of our glampsites are guaranteed to be very private, where your view of other glampsites is obscured by trees or is a minimum of 400 m (0.4 km or ¼ of a mile) away.
