Experience country living in this peaceful haven, tucked away in the picturesque foothills. A short drive from Calgary, Bragg Creek, and the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, this retreat places you at the heart of Alberta’s natural beauty. Savor weekends at nearby farmers markets, explore trails on foot or horseback, cast a line in pristine waters, or simply breathe in the fresh air. Stroll to the local café, unwind at the pub, or enjoy family fun at the playground, just steps from your door.

The space
The suite is in the lower, walk-out section of our home. The space has a queen bed and kitchenette on one side. The other side has a living room area with large screen TV. The main couch is a double pull out bed. The suite has a privacy curtain between the two halves.
The newly renovated bathroom has an oversize, curbless shower and in-floor heating.

There are two patios that guests can enjoy. One small covered one, just outside of the entrance, which is perfect for your morning coffee. And a larger, free-standing one with comfy deck furnishings. Many birds can be heard and seen there.
There's firepit and BBQ for guest use as well.

Our home is built on a historic piece of property. Originally owned by Charlie Priddis, it was gifted to A. M. Stewart where he opened a post office and general store in small shack.

Stewart had emigrated from England and was part of the Tudor family.

Stewart later built a larger tea and boarding house which he named "Galloway House". It fell into disrepair after Stewart's death. It burned down in the early 1960's and the pan abode log home we now live in was built.

Our property is nestled into a natural area that was dedicated as a nature preserve by Heather MacEwan (daughter of Grant MacEwan). The MacEwans resided on the property for generations.

Guest access
The suite has its own outside entrance. It is self contained with it's own washroom and heating and cooling.
We have a yard for outdoor activities and fire pit that guests are welcome to responsibly use. There is also a BBQ just for guests.

Other things to note
Like all AirBnB's in Alberta GST and the Alberta Tourism Levy apply. However, unlike most we don't charge a cleaning fee!

Most common questions.
Do we include breakfast? No, this is a suite only.

Are there cooking facilities? No, there is no full kitchen. There are small appliances. (Coffee maker, kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave, induction plate)

We do offer a BBQ exclusively for guests to use and it has a side burner.

Are pets welcome? Yes, we allow small and medium dogs. We do ask that you follow the pet house rules. We have crates available for you to use for pets.
Please let us know if you have a pet, so we can prepare the suite accordingly. Sorry no cats allowed.

Neighbourhood highlights

The Priddis area is beautiful and unique. We are just within the Rocky Mountain foothills which provides us will all sorts of wildlife from elk to moose to even the occasional cougar (though they tend to stick to the woods). With mountains to the West and ranch lands to the south, a person can take in every kind of Alberta outdoor experience.

My husband and I have lived in Priddis for over ten years. We absolutely love the peaceful area and the wonderful people we have met over the years. We love travelling to Texas and Australia. In 2018 we discovered there was a need for local accommodation and we created our guest suite.
