The view. The location. The unique property.
One of kind place to stay for a northern experience. Newly renovated house literally on the Great Slave Lake in the heart of Old Town. Windows offering spectacular views of the Northern Lights right from the comfort of home! Gaze out at the lake or watch bush planes (on skis in the winter or floats in the summer) coming in and out. The Docked Houseboat will offer you an unforgettable experience.

The space
Our space is unique because our home is secured on a 60 ft long metal barge and anchored right up to our water front property. This gives the home incredible private access to the lake. It also means excellent Aurora viewing because the home is in the back of the lot, away from the lights of buildings or the street. You will have full access to the lake to cross country ski or snow shoe right out the front door (we have snow shoes for you to use). You will also be walking distance to popular eateries and to exploring Old Town. The best of both worlds!

The Docked Houseboat has a full kitchen with quartz counter tops. We have both a Nespresso machine and a Keurig coffee maker (along with coffee, tea, cream, milk and sugar) to ensure you are caffeinated to start your day. The Independent Grocery Store is a 10 minute walk away.

The living room has a 43 inch smart tv with a comfortable sofa and accent chairs, so you can sit back and relax. WiFi is complimentary. Enjoy the window aurora viewing in the living room in the evening from the three tall windows.

The master bedroom has a new queen-sized bed with a new duvet, pillows and bedding. The large closet has shelving to hold your items as well as ample hanging space. There is also a vanity for make-up and hair in the master bedroom.

The second bedroom has two new twin beds with all new bedding, duvets and pillows.

The bathroom features a claw tub/shower. Large bath sheets will be there for you as well as extra towels in the closet above the toilet.

If needed, a single sized air mattress is available (with an electric inflation/deflation ability).

Parking is available for guests who wish to rent a car or who have driven up; however, most everything to do in Yellowknife is within walking distance of the house.

To ensure guests with allergies stay allergen free, no pets are permitted in the home. This is a non-smoking space.
