“By the Manor” is our four-season, 80 year-old, light-filled home on the outskirts of Picton, 15 minutes from Sandbanks Provincial Park. The house has been lovingly updated, maintaining nearly all the original oak & pine finishing and trim whilst adding modern conveniences.

The space
On the main level, the large country kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware, modern ceran-top stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, toaster, kettle, and is well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, and glassware. There’s a brand new 2 piece powder room off the kitchen as well. The large antique dining room table easily seats 6. With a TV room thats seats 4, a living room that seats 6, and a large enclosed porch on the first level, kids and adults can each have their own space.

Upstairs, 2 large, light-filled bedrooms host queen beds (all with relatively new Lapensee mattresses. All of the rooms boast multiple windows that shed incredible light into the house. We've aded blackout curtains for those that like to sleep through the bright early mornings too! There’s a new, completely renovated full bathroom with modern, heated tiled floors and shower, vanity and toilet (on city water) on the second level. All bedding and bathroom towels are provided (please bring your own beach towels).

Neighbourhood highlights

We are just a short jaunt away from Barley Day’s Brewery, Black Prince Winery and The Waring House. Downtown Picton, with a host of great restaurants, live music, and services is a 2 minute drive east of us. The Millenium Trail is 200m away and provides a 45 km groomed trail from one end of the County to the other, suitable for bicycles or walking. With a retirement home on one side, and a quiet couple of the other side, the property tends to be very quiet at night - there's little traffic on Loyalist Parkway after 8 PM.

My wife Debbie and I are big supporters of local food, wine, and craft beer. We fell in love with Prince Edward County and wanted to make our place there available to others who love it as much as we do. We love travelling and exploring new places to find the latest interesting foods & beverages. We're more than happy to provide you with recommendations! We have a real passion for renovating houses, and where appropriate, preserving the original details of the home while adding modern touches. Our motto is "You rest, you rust!"
