➡️ You will have access to the entire A-Frame cabin and the recreation locker adjacent to the shed. The locker is stocked with life jackets, boat kits, pool noodles, outdoor games and kindling for campfires.
➡️ Some areas and items are locked and not accessible to guests. This includes the outside shed, the metal cabinet in the main floor bedroom and the cabinet in the washroom, which are used for owner storage.
➡️ The sailboat moored and secured at the dock is not available for guest use.
Other things to note
➡️ The loft bedroom is accessed using a ship’s ladder and may not be suitable for small children or guests with mobility concerns.
➡️ We have had successful family stays, but the cabin is not child proofed. Parents should use their discretion.
➡️ Kindling and firewood are provided for the outdoor firepit. Guests are responsible for abiding by any municipal restrictions including fire bans and for practicing good fire safety. Please keep a bucket of water nearby and fully extinguish your fire when finished.
➡️ Guests are asked to take their garbage and recycling with them at checkout. Municipal waste disposal sites are available on North and South Baptiste Lake roads.
➡️ The washer and dryer in the half-bathroom are not available for guest use.
➡️ Baptiste Lake and the island are abundant with local wildlife including chipmunks, hummingbirds, loons, otters, beaver, porcupines, black bears, moose and many more. Please be respectful of the local environment and wildlife.
➡️ Nature (even the bugs!) is part of the experience. You may occasionally see the odd insect inside; this is normal and unavoidable.
➡️ As with many rural lake properties in Ontario, occasional short power outages can occur, usually during storms or grid maintenance, and typically resolve within a few hours. See our cabin manual for some handy tips.
