Building trust
Our commitment
At Airbnb, we believe in building trust, which is why trips are designed with community safety and responsible travel in mind. So whether you host, travel, or live next door, we are committed to building effective tools and policies paired with strong enforcement to support community safety, responsible travel, and being good neighbors.
Banning disruptive parties
Creating a world where anyone can belong means creating an environment where everyone–including Hosts, guests and neighbors next door–feels supported.
This is why Airbnb is officially banning disruptive parties and events in listings globally, as well as prohibiting listings identified as chronic party houses. The policy includes serious consequences for guests who attempt to violate these rules, varying from account suspension to full removal from the platform.Reservation screening technology
In the US and Canada, our new tech helps identify potentially high-risk reservations and prevent those users from taking advantage of our platform. This system looks at factors like:
- Length of time on the platform
- History of positive reviews
- Distance from the listing
- Length of trip
Neighborhood Support Line
Our 24/7 Neighborhood Support Line provides neighbors with direct access to a dedicated member of our Community Support team to share their concerns.
Building trust with neighbors means turning concerns into action. When a neighborhood disturbance is brought to our attention, our team conducts a full investigation into the issue, and follows up with the neighbor for more information during and at the conclusion of the investigation.Solo Traveler safety features
Our Solo Traveler in-app experience is specifically designed to better support safe solo traveling on Airbnb. When a solo guest books a private or shared room reservation, they will have easy access to:
- Expert solo travel tips
- One-touch reservation sharing with the people they trust
- Suggested questions to ask the Host before their stay
