The Blaeberry Chalet is a small log cabin tucked in the mountainous, rural and peaceful Blaeberry Valley. It's 20 minutes from Golden, west on highway 1, where time stands still and wildlife is abundant. It's an authentic Swiss Chalet style (hand built by the previous owner), and there's a neighboring a Cabin on 11 acres of forest and meadow. You are surrounded by mountains, with a view of the Purcells in the front and the Rockies in the back with the Blaeberry River across the road.

The space
The Chalet is rustic and it's my home, so I have some personal items around. It's clean, cozy and super unique. There are electric baseboards for heating, with a central thermostat. Get your pioneer on! The chalet was built with lumber from the region by the former (Swiss) owner and he built-in a lot of really special rustic character. Forest, mountains, rivers and farmland are yours to soak in or explore.

Guest access
You'll enter on a new gravel driveway from the main road into the property. A vehicle with high ground clearance is recommended and for-wheel drive is mandatory from Oct.-May. There is also a small guest cabin on the property, each with separate parking areas and yards. The guests are welcome to enjoy the entire property and go beyond into thousands of acres of crown (government) land beyond the property at the back (east). Drive right up to the chalet and park in the carport.

Other things to note
There are some beams where tall people have to watch their heads and 6.5 foot ceilings. The second bedroom is in the attic above the living room, and was not designed for adults to stand up in it, with only about a 4.5 foot ceiling at the peak; a great room for kids!
There is WiFi in the chalet and limited mobile phone service (poor reception indoors, better reception in the driveway). There is a TV the doesn't have cable or satellite, it can only be used to plug in a laptop (HDMI & HDMI mini cords available). BUT there is lots of nature to enjoy ;)
You can hear the horses on the neighbour's property. There is lots of wildlife to enjoy, with deer often grazing daily in the meadow.
